The concept of turning algae into fuel is in its infancy and may never happen, but that won’t stop the Potemkin POTUS from touting it as just the ticket for replacing fossil fuels.
President Obama admitted today that he does not have a “silver bullet” solution for skyrocketing gas prices, but he proposed alternative energy sources such as “a plant-like substance, algae” as a way of cutting dependence on oil by 17 percent.
“We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance, algae — you’ve got a bunch of algae out here,” Obama said at the University of Miami today. “If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing alright. Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in America.”
The Department of Energy (DOE) currently spends about $85 million on 30 research projects “to develop algal biofuels,” according to the White House, which announced that Obama is committing another $14 million to the idea. (Read More)
Oh, how nice that he’s committing millions more of our dollars to this pie in the sky idea. If algae is the silver bullet we need, why aren’t private investors rushing to get in on it?

Does this mean that he’s resorted to selling pond scum from the White House garden as our next great hope in energy?
It is hard to dig up a “silver” bullet when your hands are tied by the corporate raiders like Buffett, Rockefeller, and Soros!
Keep diggen! When Obama’s popularity hits about 20%, he will be spewing pond scum and buying cases of bullets from the Lone Ranger!

Some in his administration even admitted it because it would push people to mass transportation and make alternative fuels more attractive. Private investors did jump on algae before they compounded their investments with taxpayer money from the Stimulus.
Notable profiteers are: Paul Pelosi Jr., Al Gore, Robert Gates (now you see what he stayed to work on for O after Bush), Charlie Crist, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and .
Be very afraid if Obama is not the algae biofuel savior because that means these nutzos are saving it for global saviors instead. Our wetlands and waterways were already ceded by Obama in E.O. 13547, and plenty of others E.O.’s under Bush and Clinton. Now, all that needs to happen is for a disruption in the Strait of Hormuz to entice the US to ratify LOST and the UN owns our wetlands and waterways.
