Scary Chart of the Day

February 23, 2012

Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) sent to the Weekly Standard the following chart comparing US debt per capita to Greece, Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal and Spain. The US comes out on top, but not in a good way. Yet the Democrats only want to keep spending money. They believe the problem is that they don’t tax enough, rather than that they spend too much. President Obama even wants to spend more money on algae, and we’re supposed to believe he’s serious about reducing the debt. Unbelievable.

So, how big a vat would that algae need to grow in?

Remember that bimbo on TV awhile back saying that a solar array – 100 miles to the side – would solve our energy problems?

That’s 10,000 square miles of solar panels. OK. A solar panel measuring roughly 2 feet by 4 feet(8 square feet) costs around $150.00

How many square feet in 10,000 square miles?

    1 sq. Mile . . . . . . . 27,878,400 sq.ft.
    10 sq.miles . . . . . . 278,784,000 sq.ft.
    100 sq. miles . . . . 2,787,840,000 sq.ft.
    1000 sq. miles. . . .27,878,400,000 sq.ft.
    10,000 sq. miles. . 278,784,000,000 sq.ft.

That’s 278 billion, 784 million square feet of solar panel.
At twenty bucks a square foot. How much is that in dollars? Somewhere around 5.6 TRILLION dollars… Just for the panels.

And – of course – Obama would have union labor contruct the thing. That would be several trillion more.

But that’s not the real problem…. the real problem is that there is not enough silicon on the entire planet to make all those solar panels. Even if there was, it would take decades to manufacture them.

And then there’s the support structure, the wiring, the maintenance, the power lines, roads, buildings, fencing, etc., etc., etc.

On top of all that, the thing would only work in the daytime, in good weather.

Idiots. We need the electricity at night, so we don’t have to go to bed the minute it gets dark.

So. When that idiot says algae would solve our energy problem, do a little math. You’ll see how stupid the whole idea is, and how stupid Obama is for claiming such a thing.

What I am asking is for you to do is a bit of critical thinking, something Obama and bullsh*ting buddies are convinced you cannot do.

Remember, he lies. Everybody in his administration lies. Whatever he says or claims – on any subject – you need to do a bit of research and discover the truth.
