The Santorum Factor, Sanity in an Insane Race!
Tuesday’s stunning GOP victories in Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri have been the talk of the season for Rick Santorum. The phenomenal aspect of this event is that Santorum has been largely ignored in the debates, has been underfunded in his campaign war chest, and has not picked up major endorsement from big-name party figures. His strong point is his strongly worded presentation of solid conservative values both in the debates and on the campaign trail. Santorum offers voters a pleasant reprieve from the bombastic media attacks perpetrated by the Republican frontrunners.
The Santorum approach is his strongest appeal. His work ethic is strong. He does things the old fashioned way. He gets out into small-town America and establishes rapport by speaking to his fellow Americans with a smile and a firm handshake. He gets quality face time. People still love that quality in a media driven world. He is a standout in presenting his convictions to a truth starved nation.
Additionally, Santorum certainly has the message of the hour. While President Obama is bashing Catholic leadership over the ObamaCare mandates of providing mandatory birth control benefits in religious hospitals and clinics. The truth is refreshing. There is no doubt what Rick believes about the hot topic ideas of abortion and gay marriage. He comes across as a modern John Wayne with his straight talking, straight shooting approach to conflict. As they say down in Texas, he’s the new sheriff in town and the other candidates, Obama included, must beware of where they are treading.
The best part about being a true conservative is the opposition will have difficulty pushing his face in his conservatism. He owns it. We won’t apologize for it. He offers true change. I’m sure that Santorum’s sudden emergence, from what may have seemed like political “road kill” land, must strike a, cord of fear in the campaign managers of the front runners. Just when they seemed poised to crush each other, they must now prepare for the “Santorum factor.”
New hate ads must be financed and new mud has to be harvested and spun to take on Rick.

Rick is real. His message is delivered personally with an All-American, low budget, no spin, one-on-one approach that MSNBC and the iPad cannot reproduce. People want reality not a campaign that resembles the Jerry Springer Show.
There is a growing perception that Santorum can deliver because he does not have to sell is soul to the highest bidder. It’s nice to have a sane person in an impersonal race.

Editors note: I’ve talked to quite a few people today at CPAC, and they all like Rick Santorum.

I assume you’re a liberal, based on a lot of your comments, and what I find interesting is how liberals claim to support freedom of speech (as long as you don’t say anything that they disagree with or offends them), they claim to support freedom of religion (as long as it’s not Christian or Jew), and they claim to support freedom of choice (as long as you choose exactly what they tell you to choose).
I also find it interesting how you continue to us “baggers” (short for tea-baggers), a term used to depict a derogatory sex act with implied homosexual connotations, to insult people you don’t agree with.
…How very “open minded” and mature of you.

Just like a typical liberal, if you can’t provide proof or facts, resort to name calling

John is not a liberal; he’s the fascist in the street with a bat, looking to bash the kids and the elderly. He is too cowardly to face an adult, he would wear the bat! But, John will be leaving us soon because his little friends are going down the street for milk and cookies!

Sheesh, Kit, I have to agree somewhat with you. We certainly don’t need any more of those kind you rail against so please don’t come here and if you’re here already please leave and become part of the solution.
