McConnell’s Last Stand on ObamaCare
According to The Hill, Senate Republican Leader, Mitch McConnell, has agreed to take on the task of leading the charge to repeal ObamaCare in the Senate. Much like Lieutenant Colonel George Custer, he is deep in enemy territory, and the natives are ready to route the Republican minority. It’s time to fully support this critical plan. For those who love their freedom, this is the fight that must be won.
In the article, “McConnell vows full-fledged assault on health law amid threat to his leadership,” Julian Pecquet and Alexander Bolton, Healthwatch, report on McConnell’s strategy.
“Leader McConnell not only is an unapologetic advocate for the complete repeal of ObamaCare, he authored the repeal amendment and forced a vote on it at the beginning of this Congress,” McConnell spokesman Don Stewart told The Hill after the Restore America’s Voice Foundation said he should resign his leadership post if he doesn’t have “the will or the backbone to force a floor vote” on repeal.
“The leader is discussing with his colleagues how best to raise the profile of this unconstitutional law as the nation turns its focus to the anniversary of the law and the Supreme Court case later this month.”
Ken Hoagland, the chairman of the foundation, said McConnell’s chief of staff spoke with him for 20 minutes by phone after the threat was issued and vowed to make March “Repeal ObamaCare Month.” Hoagland said his group was taking a “trust but verify” approach and would unleash TV ads and petitions asking for McConnell to step down as minority leader unless he shows he’s serious about repeal.
The McConnell plan is the only option that will cause ObamaCare to die a much needed death. There is no constitutional method to alter the law through the creation of another law or amendment to counteract ObamaCare.
ObamaCare cannot be defunded by congress. The law is self-funded through a series of fines established within the law. It is anticipated that billions of dollars of operating costs will be generated through the individual mandate option. The absurdity of ObamaCare is that the law is designed to survive by fining citizens who will not purchase HHS approved health insurance.
In a recent article in the Washington Post, opinion writer, and medical doctor, Charles Krauthammer, explains the unconstitutional aspects of the presidential mandate that private insurance will fund contraception. See: “Overreach: Obamacare vs. the Constitution”
“Under Obamacare, the state treats private insurers the way it does government-regulated monopolies and utilities. It determines everything of importance. Insurers, by definition, set premiums according to risk. Not anymore. The risk ratios (for age, gender, smoking, etc.) are decreed by Washington. This is nationalization in all but name. The insurer is turned into a middleman, subject to state control — and presidential whim.”
ObamaCare represents the greatest threat to individual freedom since the terror attacks of 9/11. Tell your friends about McConnell’s plan. Contact your senator and demand that ObamaCare be repealed completely.

If ObamaCare is not completely repealed, it will just take a majority vote in congress to restore the missing elements of the law.
When SOPA almost became a law, it was tabled due to the strong outcry of people and corporations. The same level of public outrage must be demonstrated against ObamaCare.
Now is the time to act. Now is the time for private health insurance providers, medical people, and medical device manufacturers to stand together to demand that the senate repeal ObamaCare.

Yeah, McConnell is the leader for now but I don’t hold out too much hope with him at the helm. I know he doesn’t have the numbers but he’s been milquetoast at best when rallying the troops. He’s a methodical chess player in the Senate indeed but not the guy IMO for a full frontal assault especially when he plays the old way and still refers to his progressive counterparts as “friends”. I’m a lot sick of that crap.
