If any of you have donated money to Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY) you may want to ask for a refund. He’s out there telling women to donate to Democrats. Seriously.
A Republican congressman disenchanted with his party’s stance on women’s issues urged attendees at a rally to give money to Democrats to send a message to the GOP.
“I think these are very precarious times for women, it seems. So many of your rights are under assault,” Rep. Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.) told a crowd at a rally in Washington, D.C., for the Equal Rights Amendment, according to the Huffington Post. “I’ll tell you this: Contribute your money to people who speak out on your behalf, because the other side — my side — has a lot of it. And you need to send your own message. You need to remind people that you vote, you matter, and that they can’t succeed without your help.”
Hanna, who is pro-choice, went on to encourage women to become more vocal on issues that were important to them. Hanna was the only Republican congressman at the rally. (Read More)
Does he want them donating to his opponent in the next election?
I was thinking someone ought to primary Hanna, then I remembered Michael Kicinski. I just got off the phone with Kicinski, who is part of the Norwich Tea Party Patriots, a group that campaigned for Hanna in the last election.
Kicinski told me that even before this comment, conservatives regretted supporting Hanna because he hasn’t followed through with his campaign promises. “He voted three times to increase the debt limit, and he voted for every spending bill,” Kicinski said. He’s in the process now of collecting petition signatures, and he doesn’t believe the Conservative Party will endorse Hanna. I would think not, especially after these latest comments. The Republican Party would be wise to ditch him, too.
Michael Kicinski for Congress!
(Note, Kicinski’s campaign website is new, but more features will be added soon.)

Well sure. What are the Republicans for? I’ll tell you:
Republicans are trying to shove foreign objects into our vaginas.
Republicans are comparing us to fucking farm animals.
Republicans are trying to force us to carry DEAD FETUSES in our wombs because hey—pigs and cows do it!
Republicans want to tax us if we choose to get an abortion.
Republicans are forcing doctors to flat-out lie to us about abortions increasing the risk of breast cancer.
Republicans tried (and nearly succeeded) in denying us access to any preventive health care whatsoever, if it offends somebody’s twisted theological sense of morality.
Republicans are trying to force us to watch an abortion before having one.
Republicans are trying to force us to get permission from the man (Father? Rapist? Who cares!) before getting an abortion.
Republicans are trying to force us to tell employers whether we’re using the pill for birth control.
Republicans think that a baby conceived by rape is a gift from God.
Republicans think that we gals don’t need contraception—we should just hold an aspirin between our knees.
Republicans think that “rape” is a figment of our imagination. Is it really rape or are you just being a cranky-pants?
Republicans think we’re sluts for wanting insurance coverage for contraception—whether for birth control or otherwise—all the while demonstrating how utterly devoid of brain activity they are by suggesting that the doctor-recommended use for birth control is “a-pill-per-screw,” and that maybe we could pay for our ovarian cyst treatment if we’d just stop drinking so many soy lattes.

There’s no logical reason for a sane woman to vote Republican.
There’s no logic in a sane member of a minority to vote Republican.
There’s no logic in a sane middle class worker to vote Republican.
There’s no logic in a sane person making less than $500K to vote Republican.

What Conservatives are, and what Liberals think we are, are two very, very different things.

You do know that the The Republican Party included support of the ERA in its platform beginning in 1940, right?
And you liberals also know that the ERA was also opposed by Eleanor Roosevelt and most New Dealers, right?
And I’m sure you have enough schooling to know that the amendment was opposed by most northern Democrats, who aligned themselves with the anti-ERA labor unions but the ERA was supported by southern Democrats and almost all Republicans, right?
So, why, when the Republicans have always supported the ERA do liberals keep insisting that Woman would be stupid to vote Republican.
One of two things: Liberals HOPE people don’t remember the above, or Liberals are educationally lacking and skipped so much school, they didn’t know this.
