Rep. Allen West (R-FL) said there are about eighty communists in the House of Representatives at a town hall meeting in Florida, according to Politico.
Rep. Allen West channeled Joe McCarthy in a town hall event in Florida that he’s “heard” that up to 80 House Democrats are Communist Party members, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The Florida Republican, and tea party favorite, was speaking at Florida Atlantic University on Tuesday but didn’t go as far as to say names he’d heard or from whom.
But at the same event, West said that he was referring to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest Democratic caucus, which has more than 75 members.
West is right. If you’re looking for names of the commies in Congress, a couple of years ago the Socialist Party USA posted a list. Many of their members are still in Congress.
The POH Diaries believes West’s estimate is a bit conservative. Seeing that Nancy Pelosi didn’t make the SPU’s list I’d say that’s probably true.
Update: The Communist Party USA is very offended by the way West “cast a shadow over his colleagues.”

I love how Politico instantly invokes Senator McCarthy’s name as if it will shut off the conversation of Communists. It works on most politicians but not Congressman West, a true patriot.

Communist theory suggest that government will eventually become irrelevant and dissolve when the people and workers rise up. Considering Conservatives are always clamoring for “less government,” THEY are more ideologically closer to Communists than Democrats…after all, they ARE in “Red States.”

Anyone can register a domain name and hide the real source. Publish any list they like….say that half the conservatives in Congress are perverts.
