The Hill reported that the Obama campaign is unveiling yet another new line of attack against Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee. I guess they figure trying to get people to hate him for being rich isn’t working, so they’re trying a different tack – a pack of lies.
But the Romney of 2012 has made his views known: He wants to get rid of abortion and gay marriage, the official said. He also wants veto the Dream Act, which would provide a path to legal residency for children brought to the country as illegal immigrants, and deport all 11 million people in the country illegally.
The official, who would not go on the record, said these views represent Romney at his core, and not the more centrist positions he took as Massachusetts governor. (Read More)
Actually, this isn’t exactly new. They rolled out a list of five lies last week, and Ben Shapiro did a fine job of knocking them down.
Obama claims that Romney would “get rid of Planned Parenthood and outlaw abortion.” This is brazenly false. Romney might work to end federal subsidization for Planned Parenthood, but that is not the same thing as shutting it down. As for outlawing abortion, Romney does not support a federal amendment banning abortion. He supports an amendment overturning Roe v. Wade and returning the issue to the state level.
The only thing really new is the immigration claim. That’s something President Obama brought up while he was out of the country, and he openly bashed a law passed by a large majority in the Arizona legislature. If Obama was so interested in immigration reform, why is he putting it off until after the election?
Obama can’t run on his own record, so expect more of this dishonesty.

Since Obama cannot run on his record of accomplishments, he must always run on lies and distortions!

What is really too bad is that so many gullible people fall for and believe the lies and distortions, hook, line and sinker. Not only do most progressive/liberal leaning people believe this muck, but so do most GOP followers believe the lies and distortions promoted by their own political GOP establishment against anyone who really, truly follows the Constitution, most especially on foreign policy issues. And all of which is more reasons why Democracy does not work. The majority can be easily mislead by agendas from the media and conniving politicians, making democracy an easier way to get the people to embrace totalitarian government control of their lives over time.

Romney said he’d “get rid of” Planned Parenthood. To say he really meant he’d only defund it is just another of his slippery maneuvers. This guy makes Bill Clinton look like a straight shooter. So, no, the Obama ads aren’t lying – you just don’t like the fact that he posed as a far-right conservative during the primary and now he has to backtrack. Ron Paul is pretty much the only guy who actually said what he meant consistently.
Hot debate. What do you think?
