Oooh, watch out. The conservative boogeymen are out there. They are secretive, they lurk in the shadows. They do things like run ads in swing states against Democrats and their Dear Leader. Pay up now or evil men like the Koch brothers might create some more jobs. We can’t have that now, can we?
American Crossroads, a so-called “super PAC” led by conservatives including former Bush campaign strategist Karl Rove, was also targeted in the e-mail sent today by DNC executive director Patrick Gaspard.
“Remember the mysterious, secretly funded, Koch-brothers-backed group called Americans for Prosperity, which flushed millions into the 2010 election to help Tea Party Republicans take back the House?” Gaspard wrote in the e-mail (full text below). “This is the same group that, along with Sarah Palin, supported and rallied for Scott Walker’s fight in Wisconsin to strip union workers of collective bargaining rights. Well, they’re back — with a ‘multi-million dollar,’ ‘massive ad launch’ to slam President Obama. We could face some serious damage — unless we fight back right away.”
There is nothing secretive about American for Prosperity’s plans. A press release announcing the group’s ad campaign quoted AFP President Tim Phillips: “This new TV ad combined with our social media and boots on the ground approach pulls back the curtain on an important component of our strategy and focus this year. We’re going to be shining a spotlight on something so important, President Obama himself will be forced to take notice.”
These boogeymen really need to come out of the shadows. Maybe if they run a few more ads they won’t be accused of being so secretive. Oh wait, American Crossroads released one just this morning. Either they need a lesson in stealth, or Obama’s writers need to take off the tin foil hats.
In related news, Team O is also warning about “secretive oil billionaires” donating to the Romney campaign. Gee, I can’t imagine why anyone in the oil business would want to be rid of a regime with a “crucify them” philosophy. Not that the Romney camp had to dig too deep to come up with a response.
“The Obama campaign is again trying to distract voters from the fact that gas prices have doubled on President Obama’s watch. His administration’s wasteful, job-killing energy policies have done nothing to advance our energy security or lower gas prices. Instead, energy costs have soared and family budgets are even more strained. All the distortions and finger-pointing in the world can’t cover up President Obama’s failure when it comes to energy,” Andrea Saul, Romney spokesperson, emails in a statement.
Responses to these attacks practically write themselves. I’ve got one: “Have you looked at your last gas receipt? Just who is getting crucified here?”
Is it just me, or does anyone else smell desperation in the air? As Da TechGuy would say, “Ride right through ‘em, they’re demoralized as hell.”

“Obama’s writers need to take off the tin foil hats”… bingo. I see all the DNC emails and if you’re not 6 years old or a dementia patient, anyone on the mailing list should be really insulted by what they circulate. It’s so shrill and panicked and ludicrous. Kinda like Progressives.
I know a lot of Democrats. They are not Progressives. They have serious buyer’s remorse. Let’s hope no one gets lazy, and gets out to vote.

I think it would be a good investment to buy those voters a case of beer or a quart of whiskey the night before election day.

Ain’t it just grand, the way the Obama campaign and their friends in the liberal media twist and turn everything for their benefit? I like Romney’s response and I hope they keep the screws on Obama. The voters need to be educated about what he is doing to our country.
