NBC News was caught being dishonest in their reporting of the Trayvon Martin case. You aren’t surprised, are you? The only surprising thing is that they’ve acknowledged it. But then again, they didn’t have much choice after they were caught editing the 911 tape to make George Zimmerman look like a guilty racist.
NBC told this blog today that it would investigate its handling of a piece on the “Today” show that ham-handedly abridged the conversation between George Zimmerman and a dispatcher in the moments before the death of Trayvon Martin. A statement from NBC:
“We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story.”
Great news right there. As exposed by Fox News and media watchdog site NewsBusters, the “Today” segment took this approach to a key part of the dispatcher call:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.
Here’s how the actual conversation went down:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black. (Read More)
In related news, two “experts” say that the person yelling for “help” in a tape is Trayvon Martin, not George Zimmerman. But they aren’t sure, and it makes no sense.

Non-story. Zimmerman will be found guilty of at least manslaughter, despite whatever NBC or any network says. Zimmerman’s father, a retired magistrate who accuses Obama of “hating”, uses inappropriate commentary when he knows he doesn’t know anything about it. He ought to know better than that. It’s called “prejudice” and I’m sure he dismissed his share of motions based on this principle.
Why was the police chief on the scene? Why did the prosecuting attorney drive 50 miles to be on the scene? What was so important these two high-level people had to be present? Did they get a call from Zimmerman’s father?
NBC is not the issue. Zimmerman remaining free and armed is the more important story.
Hot debate. What do you think?

James’s weak defense of NBC is about as good as it can get for such a miserable excuse for a “news network”. They are impossible to defend on a logical or honest level. They can’t stink up the airwaves more than they do.

“James in LA”, how many people in L.A. do you think are “remaining free and armed” right now with pending manslaughter charges??? My guess would be quite a few, where is the national news coverage for them???
And since when does a case of “manslaughter” get NATIONAL news coverage anyway???
If the national media concerned itself with EVERY pending case of manslaughter where the perpetrator was still “free” we would NEVER hear about anything else in the news.
Yes it was a tragedy that a teenager lost his life…but where is the national outcry when an innocent black teenager is gunned down by a black gang member?
What made THIS case so “news worthy” was because initial reports were that it was a “white guy who killed a black kid”, this never would’ve gotten as big of a story as it did if Zimmerman’s last name had been “Gonzales”
The news media tried to turn it into a race issue (as proof by the edited 911 tape), but now we see that this clearly wasn’t.
Racism to the point of killing someone doesn’t happen in an instant. If this man was truly a “racist” there would have been previous incidents of racism, which there appears to be none in his past.
They are still trying to keep the race issue going by labeling him a “white Hispanic”…why? Because he’s half white?
obama is half white too, so should we start referring to him as a “white-black american”???

NBC has been the poster child of irresponsible and race-=baiting in their reporting on this incident.
The good news is, many people have realized that the reporting is clearly bigoted and public opinion has changed from supporting Trayvon to supporting Zimmerman.
The bad news is, it has enraged enough people, that Zimmerman will be stalked as a racist murderer and killed by those whose minds are poisoned by NBC!
They need to be shut down now!
