Vice President Joe Biden heated things up over the weekend when he came out in support of gay marriage. Shortly thereafter, education secretary Arne Duncan made similar comments. When asked about it during a press conference earlier this week Jay Carney explained that President Obama has evolving views on gay marriage, causing widespread mockery. Now Obama has scheduled an interview with ABC News at which time he will be pressed to clarify his stance on same-sex marriage.
The interview, to be conducted by Robin Roberts, an anchor on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and was secured in the wake of a declaration by Mr. Obama’s vice president, Joseph R. Biden, on Sunday that he was “absolutely comfortable” with same-sex marriages.
The White House and the president’s re-election campaign declined to comment on Wednesday.
This is a big deal, because Obama’s looking to appease his gay fundraisers, while at the same time not offending black voters who are overwhelmingly against same-sex marriage.
According to the Washington Post, one in six of Obama’s top campaign bundlers — the fundraisers who bring together major donations — are gay. In Hertford County, North Carolina, which is 60 percent black and voted 70 percent for Obama in 2008, Amendment One — a ballot initiative defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman — passed with 70 percent of the vote. That’s nine points better than the amendment did statewide.

We’ll have to wait and see. What’s promising in all of this is that he’s no longer a blank slate that can be all things to all people.

President Obama clarified his stance. Suddenly he’s all for states’ rights, saying he “personally” supports gay marriage, but believes it should be left up to the states.

Obama is being forced to coddle gays because his Wall Street donors are staying awY in droves.
The conservative super Pacs are outdoing Obama in advertising fund raising! Soros has yet to throw money into the coffers, so what is a radical Marxist to do?
Gays will give him money, but may not be able to provide enough votes to save his reelection campaign!
The North Carolina same sex marriage ban has certainly exposed how unpopular this topic still is to most voters.
Maybe Obama can be the Fresh Young Prince of the gays after losing the November reelection!

Obama’s views on homosexual marriage “evolve” only in conjunction with political expediency.
In 1996, it was an advantage to be pro gay marriage, so Obie was! By 2008, it was politically smarter to be FOR ‘marriage between a man and a woman’. Now it’s 2012 and rich gays threatened to keep their wallets closed, so Obama is, once again, pro gay marriage.

…the “war on women” didn’t distract enough voters who are LOUDLY proclaiming their displeasure with this President over the last two days, and suddenly gay marriage is again the hottest crisis in town…. this is just the creation of a good firestorm because his actual campaign is in crisis mode.
Do not be distracted, and tell the GOP to stay on message (which is: FIX THE ECONOMY, STUPID. Gay people are ALSO unemployed, we can fix and/or fight about the other stuff later).
