Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) appeared on MSNBC to denounce a Republican bill (that was defeated) that would make it illegal for physicians to knowingly perform sex-selective abortions. She actually claimed that if the law passed women would be dragged out of abortion clinics into the streets, and would be forced to have coat hanger abortions. Oh, and of course, she blathered about “a woman’s right to choose” and the “war on women.” Never mind the war on baby girls, or what “choice” she’s defending. …and she probably prattles on about abortions being “to save a woman’s life”, rather than deciding one gender or the other is only worthy of being torn out and tossed in the trash.
I guess Obama’s stand on that is “evolving”, hey? Unlike his character.

Most people in Houston, not to mention around Texas and elsewhere, don’t know that Queen Sheila is a lasting legacy of Enron’s Jeff Skilling and Kenny Lay. Before Queenie came along, the very strident and vocal Craig Washington held the seat, a district which includes downtown Houston. Craig is cast in the old-school, sixties “radical” mold and was not at all friendly to the downtown business and commercial interests. Well, enter Sheila Jackson Lee, the New York transplant and perennial candidate for everything. Seeing her as one who can be manipulated, flattered and some would say ‘influenced’ into being more business friendly, Messrs. Lay and Skilling breathed life into her candidacy, with the latter acting as campaign treasurer. And as they say…. the rest is history.
As far as narcissists go, Sheila can give Teh Chosen One a run for his money.
