President Obama is choosing not to enforce immigration laws in Arizona, so it’s only fitting that Republican governors refuse to implement any aspects of Obamacare in their states. The Supreme Court decision upholding the mandate as constitutional as a tax did nothing to change their minds. Good for them.
After the decision, the Republican Governors Association said that nothing should be done by the states until after the election, a clear signal that they believe a GOP president, House and Senate will kill the health care reform pushed through by Democrats and opposed by Republicans.
RGA Chairman Bob McDonnell said, “Today’s ruling crystallizes all that’s at stake in November’s election. The only way to stop Barack Obama’s budget-busting health care takeover is by electing a new president. Barack Obama’s health care takeover encapsulates his presidency: Obamacare increases taxes, grows the size of government and puts bureaucrats over patients while doing nothing to improve the economy.”
The Virginia governor, who is on Mitt Romney’s list of potential vice presidential candidates, added, “By replacing Barack Obama with Mitt Romney, we will not only stop the federal government’s healthcare takeover, but will also take a giant step towards a full economic recovery.”
Other governors have urged a similar strategy.

IMHO, I believe Romney is pretty much a shoe-in since 10:15AM EST this morning. Now we have to put far more emphasis on getting true conservatives elected into the senate. A super majority would be preferable. Then at 12:05PM 20 Jan. 2013 President Romney can sign the law repealing odumb-dumbcare.

That’s if he can get it out of the Senate. Reid will do his best to fillibuster the legislation so it better have a alternate replacement. This will allow moderate Dems along with those up for re-election in 2014 to go along with it.

Do what Harry Reid did – put an ObamaCare repeal law under the budget rules, which don’t allow for filibuster.

Repeal can now be achieved through reconciliation to avoid the 60 vote threshold since it is now called a “tax”.

I will be the first to admit I am NOT an expert on congressional powers to levy and abolish taxes. But I have heard that it is far easier to “kill” a tax as opposed to a law. If the individual mandate is a tax as cj Roberts asserts, then it should be easier after the election to have it abolished. If the ind. mandate is dead, so is the entire odumb-dumbcare/tax. There are many more readers and contributors who read this site that know the congressional authority pertaining to taxes better than me. I’d like to hear what their ideas are.
On a slightly different note. Since prez odumb-dumb has set a precedent of ruling by fiat, instead of following the laws of our land. His immigration policy of allowing illegal’s to stay here in the US because it is “The Right Thing To Do”, and making political appointments when the senate is NOT in recess as a prime example. Then couldn’t each State, County, hell every citizen decide themselves if following the odumb-dumbcare/tax is the “The Right Thing To Do”? If he can do it, and he is just a citizen as the rest of us, how could it be wrong?

That’s why we should listen to Romney now when he says we should repeal ObamaCare. He’s been there, done that.

The Supreme Court just lit a bonfire under the coservative, anti-Obama base; as well as independents who don’t like Washington, and those who want O-care repealed.
November…another shellacking…bye-bye BO…

I’ve already heard from several people who said they were so mad they donated money to Romney today.

I heard Romney raised a lot of money today. I might just join them. And a Romney bumper sticker is going on my car.

I made a donation this morning as soon as I could. Not much, but that wasn’t the point. A donation to Romney, right now, even $5, shows a spoke in NUMBER of donations. It’s the only way to make your displeasure heard right this minute. So, I couldn’t afford it–I spiked it as well as I could. Believe me–Democrats notice that. Make a donation, shake ‘em up.

Made a donation to Romney this morning as well, I felt a bit better after I did it. When I can afford it I will do it again. What a crap-storm of a morning.

LC, you and I should either convince our families to move to one of those Republican govened sates (maybe we could be neighbors?) or we should start working together now and networking to get Cuomo replaced when his term is up, since unlike the last 2 Gov.s, this one has managed to stay out of big ugly scandals (unless you count his pre-gubantorial days when he engineered the housing crisis (Google Cuomo & HUD). Where is the nearest RED STATE from here? Besides Jersey, because Christie’s islamocoddling is likely to turn that whole area into Dearborn, Michigan but on a larger scale before too long.
