Has Mitt Romney declared a cease fire when it comes to campaigning on Obamacare? His spokesman says no.
So is the Romney campaign, in fact, declaring a “cease-fire” on Obamacare? No, no, no, says Romney spokesman Ryan Williams. “From our perspective, Obamacare has been and will continue to be a central issue in the campaign,” says Williams. “It presents voters with a bright line that divides the two candidates. Gov. Romney is going to repeal Obamacare and President Obama is going to keep it. There is a clear choice in November.”
“It is something that [Romney] has been discussing on the campaign trail for the past year and that he will continue to discuss,” Williams adds. “It is bad law, it is bad policy, and it’s something that Gov. Romney is going to address on his first day in office. His commitment to repealing Obamacare is as strong as it was on the day Congress jammed it down the throat of the American public.”
Williams says Romney agrees with the conservative dissent — signed jointly by Justices Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito — which declares Obamacare an unconstitutional federal mandate. Williams notes that Romney made a public statement, shortly after the Supreme Court decision was announced, pledging his continued determination to repeal the health care law. In addition, Romney’s “Day One” commercials, which prominently feature the promise to repeal Obamacare, are still playing in several states. The campaign also released a web ad after the Supreme Court decision, promising to keep up the Obamacare fight. It also made regular announcements on the amount of money the campaign raised from supporters who oppose the Supreme Court ruling. And Romney’s campaign website, MittRomney.com, is filled with emphatic promises to repeal Obamacare. (Read More)
I’m glad we’ve cleared that up.

I believe the Romney that beat Ted Kennedy to govern the most liberal state in the Union.

Is he sure this time or does he know or has he consulted everyone to know if he’s sure? And if he’s talking to Tea Partiers then is he sure that he knows whatever they want to hear unless of course it’s something different they’d like to hear and then of course, he’d have to get back with them?
I mean, this is the guy that loved his creation of Romneycare because it was the exact same thing as Obamacare that according to Romney, is a very bad thing, uh, the Obamacare of course. Romneycare good, Obamacare bad but his (Romney’s) is good because it’s the same thing, or something.
And like Mitt says; “people need to take personal responsibility for their lives” and has called those who do not buy insurance “free riders” because “it’s wrong for everyone else to pay the health care costs for those who can but choose not to buy insurance. That is why the law has a penalty”. But it’s only a “penalty” until his supporters want it to be a “tax” and then of course, it’s “the largest tax in history” even though it’s not unless of course you want it to be. If that’s the case, it’s a “penalty” for Romneycare and a tax for Obamacare unless of course one would rather it be something different. One day it’s a “penalty” regardless what the SCOTUS says, the next day it’s a tax because the SCOTUS says so. Unless of course, you want it to be something else as there’s always a tomorrow to come up with something different. The etch-a-sketch never rests.
And so Republicans, campaigning on a platform of full repeal, tell us that they don’t think they can pull off a repeal, yet chose Mitt as their leader in pulling it off. Mitt, who doesn’t want to repeal, says he’ll erase it on day one with a swift swoop of the pen (which he can’t do) while Bashing Obama over something about The Constitution and Congressional Powers, unless of course you don’t want him to. If that doesn’t make a great deal of sense, it’s probably because you don’t understand that Mitt “disagreed with the ruling of the Court and agreed with the dissent” and then says he agrees with the court’s decision.
So of course, there will be no cease fire on Obamacare. At least not until you refreash a web page.

Well, Romney is used to that.
I live in MA. When Romney was my governor, he didn’t actually raise “taxes” (he omitted that word from the legislation), but he did raise $500 million in so-called “user fees.” Yet some of those “user fees” were obviously tax hikes by another name.
In fairness to Romney, the MA legislature should share part of the blame. When they wanted to levy new taxes, they just crossed out the word “tax” and substituted the phrase “user fee.”
Also in fairness to Romney, he inherited a gigantic annual deficit from his predecessor. He had to make up the budget shortfall somehow.

The country, under Obama, has flirted dangerously with “soft, compassionate, European style Socialism”…. and the majority of the population has, resoundingly, cried “NO!”
Whether you are fired up for Romney or not, this is one of those times when you truly do only have two choices: vote for Obama and ensure the destruction of the country with 4 more years of breathtakingly fast, far-reaching violations of the Constitution; or vote for smaller government and a get-to-work mentality. There is no “sitting it out” in a pout this time, as happened with McCain. If you’re not willing to vote in THIS election, perhaps you’d be happier in a REAL Socialist European country.
Sorry the trolls took your “dislike” button, LC. That’s just a taste of the restriction on your freedom of expression if Erkel remains in the White House.

Obama-Harvard Grad- Radical Liberal Progressive Socialist who implemented Obamacare, forced mandated substandard inferior State Socialized Medicine that bankrupts the residents, citizens, and Independent businesses and companies in the Free Market Capitalist Free Enterprise system in the Nation, which has all but destroyed private healthcare in America, not to mention stripping American’s of their Freedom, along with Borrowing, Taxing, and Spending America into Bankruptcy oblivion, which is crippling the US Free Market and America’s Economy.
Romney-Harvard Grad- Moderate liberal Mass. Progressive Republican, aka RINO / Republican Obama Facsimile who implemented Romneycare, precursor of Obamacare, forced mandated substandard inferior State Socialized Medicine that bankrupts the residents, citizens, and Independent businesses and companies in the Free Market Capitalist Free Enterprise system in Mass ,which Romney refuses to refute, but says he will repeal Obamacare, which has all but destroyed private healthcare in Mass, that have all but crippled and bankrupted his State’s govt, the resident tax payers, and especially the economy in Mass..
If anyone thinks and believe what Romney says, then they will have rude awakening when he gets into the White House.. as yes, Romney will win the election, not because Romney is so good, but because Obama is so bad.. and just like with the Congressional Republicrat RINO’s in Congress like Boehner, who do nothing but appease, capitulate, and collude with the Obamacrats every step of the way, after we gave them the majority in 2010, unfortunately so too will Romney the progressive Republicrat RINO do.
Unfortunately this is our choice now, Hitler or Stalin.. the lessor of 2 evils.. which is not the proper way, let alone will do it all, to restore the US Constitution as the Law of the land, the govt back to the People, Democracy, Freedom, Liberty and the Sovereign Rights of the Individual restored as the hallmark of America, as the as well as economic prosperity.
This is the reason we must have a majority of Reagan Tea Party Conservatives in Congress after the 6 Nov election, to force Romney’s hand to govern conservatively, and not progressively like Boehner and McConnell, and as he did in Mass.
