The progressive website Mother Jones claims that they published the full and complete secret video recorded at a Mitt Romney fundraiser that’s the subject of the latest media uproar. The only problem? It isn’t full and it isn’t complete. There’s a gap in between the two videos posted. William Jacobson picked up on it and posted the videos at Legal Insurrection.
Yet the complete audio and video is not complete. There is a gap in the recording immediately after Romney’s now famous discussion of the 47% of voters who don’t pay taxes. The cut in the audio and video comes while Romney is in mid-sentence, so we actually do not have the full audio of what Romney said on the subject.
The next audio/video (Part 2) picks up with Romney talking about China.
Jacobson later updated the post with the response of David Corn who posted the videos at MJ.
According to the source, the recording device inadvertently turned off. The source noticed this quickly and turned it back one. The source estimates that one to two minutes, maybe less, of recording was missed. (Read More)
How do we know only 1-2 minutes of footage is missing? Are we supposed to take the word of some anonymous person who may have broken the law when he made those videos? Not that it matters all that much. As Michelle Malkin pointed out, this is just another fuzzy object the Democrats use to divert attention from Obama’s failed policies, and the media happily chases along like dumb little lapdogs.
Embassy attacks? Quick, find a squirrel! Warnings ignored? Squirrel! American troops killed by long-plotting jihadis exploiting security weaknesses? Squirrel! First Amendment sabotage by White House officials in the name of political correctness? Squirrel! Chronic joblessness, high gas prices, exploding dependency? Squirrel! Squirrel! Squirrel!
As Election Day draws nearer, the Obama campaign and its surrogates in the Fourth Estate have infested the political arena with an army of tactical and rhetorical rodentia. One week, it’s GOP presidential rival Mitt Romney’s high school hijinks. The next, it’s a heinous smear about Romney killing a steelworker’s cancer-stricken wife.
Or, it’s a hit job on multiple sclerosis survivor Ann Romney’s therapeutic horse. Then, it’s faux-rage over Romney’s firm statement condemning the feckless White House response to the murders of our U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans in Benghazi.
This week, it’s a “secret Romney video” shot undercover at a closed-door dinner with Florida donors in May. Unemployed Democratic operative James Carter IV (grandson of former president and malaise engineer Jimmy Carter) brokered the film to progressive Mother Jones magazine.
Now, the same media lapdogs who had conniption fits when the late Andrew Breitbart and conservative investigative journalist James O’Keefe used undercover video are tripping over themselves to publish glowing profiles of Carter the Fourth and his impressive “furtive efforts” to secure the Romney tapes. Today I switched the TV over to the local ABC affiliate for the latest weather forecast. They again talked about the Romney tape, and then played a clip of President Obama telling David Letterman that he’s president of all Americans. They did not play the clip of him saying the $16 trillion national debt isn’t a problem, or the audio of him praising redistribution. They also didn’t mention how Obama once referred to the tea party as “tea baggers.” I guess they’re just too busy chasing squirrels.
