If you thought Democrats couldn’t sink any lower with negative, false advertising, think again. In his latest ad, Dan Maffei has taken a dive into the sewer where he is right at home.
The bill in question is the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” or HR3. It was a bipartisan bill and had
173 227 cosponsors. The bill initially had language exempting victims of “forcible rape” and others, and later the term “forcible” was removed so it does not appear anywhere in the final bill. But that’s not what this disgusting ad of Dan Maffei’s tells you. It makes it sound like Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle is in favor of rape, or wants to redefine rape, a charge cooked up by liberal blogs like Mother Jones.
The Buerkle campaign notes that she would never support any legislation that redefines rape. She has four daughters and has spent her life volunteering for Organizations like Vera House that help victims of rape and domestic violence.
Shame on Dan Maffei for running this deceptive ad and using crime victims as props.
Update: Thanks to Andy for the correction on the number of co-sponsors.
