President Obama likes lists. He keeps an enemies list, and now he says he’s keeping a list of Congressmen who are naughty and nice.
“Joe Biden was in Costco and he wanted to buy some of this stuff, but I told him he had too much work to do. I wasn’t going to have him building roller coasters all day long. Now, of course, Santa delivers everywhere. I’ve been keeping my own naughty and nice list for Washington, so you should keep your eye on who gets some K’NEX this year. There are going to be some members of Congress who get them, and some who don’t,” President Obama said Friday at a rally where he pushed Congress to avoid the fiscal cliff.

This is what passes for leadership these days. He also compared his opponents to Scrooge. This president is a joke, a really bad sick joke. He’s not negotiating anything, he’s just playing games. Peggy Noonan pointed out how crisis is the Obama way, he creates the crisis and then drags it out on purpose.
The election is over, a new era begins—and it looks just like the old one. A crisis is declared. Confusion, frustration, and a more embittered process follow. This is . . . the Obama Way. Nothing has changed, even after a yearlong campaign that must, at times, have looked to him like a near-death experience. He still doesn’t want to forestall jittery, gloom-laden headlines and make an early deal with the other guy. He wants to beat the other guy.
You watch and wonder: Why does it always have to be cliffs with this president? Why is it always a high-stakes battle? Why doesn’t he shrewdly re-enact Ronald Reagan, meeting, arguing and negotiating in good faith with Speaker Tip O’Neill, who respected very little of what the president stood for and yet, at the end of the day and with the country in mind, could shake hands and get it done? Why is there never a sense with Mr. Obama that he understands the other guys’ real position? (Read More)
He doesn’t care about the other guys’ positions. All he cares about is his ideology and winning, no matter how ugly the win is. Look at that offer he sent Tim Geithner to deliver to Mitch McConnell. They want $1.6 trillion in tax increases, a blank check when it comes to increasing the debt ceiling, and absolutely no cuts to the budget. But that’s pretty much what we’ve come to expect from this guy.
Don’t forget: The man now engaged with Congress to work out a grand deal is the same one who could not pull over to his side a single Republican vote for his stimulus legislation, who had to ram through ObamaCare with procedural tricks, and whose inept handling of last year’s debt-ceiling talks ultimately led his fellow Democrat, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, to isolate him from the final negotiations. This is not a history to inspire confidence.
Mr. Obama’s tendency to campaign rather than lead, to speechify rather than negotiate, has already defined this lame-duck session. The president has wasted weeks during which a framework for a deal has been in place.
Within two days of the election, Mr. Boehner had offered an enormous compromise, committing the GOP to provide new tax revenue, through limits on deductions for the wealthy. Mr. Obama campaigned on making “the rich” pay more—and that is exactly what Mr. Boehner agreed to give him.
All that was left for the president to do was accept this peace offering, pair it with necessary spending cuts, and take credit for averting a crisis. Mr. Obama has instead spent the past weeks campaigning for tax-rate hikes. He wants the revenue, but collected only the way he chooses. And on the basis of that ideological insistence alone, the nation is much closer to a crisis. (Read More)
A crisis could have been averted on November 6, now we can look forward to four more years of crisis.

I had an interesting conversation at the beginning of my day with an associate. He informed me that it was almost impossible to talk politics with me because I let go of my logic when it comes to B.o. But wanted to know what makes me think that any of this National crisis is His Fault? My answer was, of course, He is by definition the President. Is he not? Who is responsible, if not the President of The United States of America? He responds with- “O’ is only doing what he is instructed, he is a mere puppet for someone else.” Now, this guy is an atheist, so I know that he is by no means referring to the revelations. Any thoughts? Who might it be that is pulling the strings for the presidential puppet? This guy has no clue, he simply believes it’s not B.o. Just curious if any of you have similar thoughts? Is B.O taking orders? & if so? from who? It certainly isn’t the American people.. -Sydney
