Here’s an interesting video from Reason TV showing free market health care in practice. It’s a surgical center in Oklahoma City that actually posts the prices for surgical procedures online, so patients know up front what the cost will be. The center has cut out third party payers – insurance companies and the government – thereby reducing administrative expenses. The cost of services at the center is lower, much lower, than the cost at a nearby hospital.
Ed Morrissey notes that another reason rates are so much more affordable at that this center is that the patients aren’t forced to pay for the care of others like they are with traditional and government insurance. Unfortunately, under Obamacare, health care quality in the US is going to decline.
(Funny, as I write this a Democrat congressman is on TV right now talking about how they are going to reduce the cost of health care. It’s laughable.)

What’s even more unfortunate, when Obamacare is fully implemented this free market business model will be outlawed.

This is the kind of information I wish Republicans were heralding, proof that the private sector knows better than government how to provide affordable quality healthcare.
I really get disheartened when I see creative solutions to complex problems being totally ignored by our legislators.
Are all our elected officials that of touch with the American brand of ingenuity and exceptionalism?

I’d like to see the doctors undercut and destroy Obamacare. Yeah, the doctors would take a big hit for a while but it would be a big payoff in the end for everyone.

ObamaTaxCare did nothing to improve the health care system and everything to destroy it. Competition across State lines, TORT reform, less red tape were three simple things that were not accomplished. But we will have 159 new agencies and 16,000 new IRS agents.
