Via The Weekly Standard, things are still really bad for thousands of people in New York City who seem to have been forgotten in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. I just saw a news report showing there are still people who have no running water, nowhere sanitary to use the bathroom, no food, no clean clothes, nothing. Why isn’t the media hammering President Obama the way they did to George Bush after Katrina?
It’s like a war zone there. People are getting robbed, and those generators that were supposed to be used for the canceled NYC Marathon are just sitting there idle. Finally the Marines are going in to help, but only after Mayor Bloomberg said he didn’t want the National Guard going in with guns.

Oh, Gov. Christie: Do you still feel the same about all those superlatives you heaped on your new best friend last week? Are there any Jersey people who would be better off if out-of-state electrical workers had not been sent away? Are you really satisfied with FEMA’s performance (or lack thereof)?

We got a small taste of what Japan went through – only in slow motion. And a taste of Katrina too. I am surprised that the local papers say nothing I have seen about collecting blankets for these folks. And it seems strange how the media basically ignored the whole problem of flooded subways, though I heard they pumped out the PATH. So how come all the smart asses were blabbing about theory and speculation about Global Warming instead of offering PRACTICAL solutions that would have spared people a lot of aggravation.
They just have to rub in their little message, whether it is appropriate or not – like with the marathon , like with car pooling, like supersized sodas, and on and on. Of course, nobody else hammered the idea of preventing flooding either, which is why we always learn the hard way – oh well.

Yes, Zorro, the Gov. got that tingle up his leg a bit prematurely. I heard just a few moments ago that FEMA is sending trailers, designed to house disaster victims for a length of time, to the stricken area—ONE WEEK AFTER THE EVENT!
Like I said in an earlier comment: Where’s the firestorm of outrage coming from the MSM?
fire•storm noun …………………………………………….
Definition of FIRESTORM
1 : what this miserable failure of leadership would have caused to erupt in the MSM under the Bush Administration.

I think I would leave by any means possible and probably never go back. Big disasters + lots of people = big troubles. I think like/appreciate my rural setting more all the time after seeing this.

This is a disgrace!! how ppl can vote for and support this good for nothing president is beyond me. This obama running around campaigning while a very important part of the USA lies in disaster and suffers with not enough help from the gov or military which obama should be right on top of. Obama should have stayed there in NY from day one and organize relief efforts on all levels… thats why hes going to lose tomorrow cuz HE DOES NOT CARE!!! he only cares for himself and politics rather then love of country reaching out and helping when the country most needs it.

I was looking for some Tea Party groups organizing and helping the hurricane Sandy victims. Do you know of any? I have skills that would be usful but don’t want to just show up and become a problem. So far the only groups I am finding that allow walk in volunteers are OWS. Not sure I would fit in with them but about ready to try if I can’t find any ground up organized conservative groups.
