By immediately dismissing Senator Rand Paul as a possible 2016 presidential candidate, Washington insiders may have just made him a favorite for the nomination.
Insiders who dismissed Rep. Ron Paul’s frequent runs for president have little support for his more moderate son, Sen. Rand Paul running for president in 2016. According to the National Journal’s “Political Insiders Poll”there is zero support for the libertarian-leading Republican Senator of Kentucky.
This could actually signal a positive sign for Paul’s chances in 2016, as his father’s supporters have little use for the opinions of Washington insiders.
Senator Marco Rubio was the favorite of the Republican insiders. The Democrats like the idea of either New Jersey Governor Chris Christie or former Florida Governor Jeb Bush getting the GOP nod. Gee, I wonder why.
