Unfortunately, those of us who did not vote for Barack Obama are in the same boat as those who did. But at least we’re aware that his policies are destructive and can take steps to prepare, even if only to soften the blow. The rest of them will find out soon enough.
Perhaps we should start with H.L. Mencken, who once wrote that democracy is the theory that the people know what they want—and deserve to get it good and hard.
Or as New York Mayor Ed Koch put it, “The people have spoken . . . and they must be punished.” I think that’s just been arranged.
And the young voters? They’re screwed and they don’t even know it.
College students who got out the vote for Obama will only find themselves doomed to low-paying jobs and a life of indebtedness as they fail year in and year out to pay off their college loans, in a year or two. And by the time they realize what it means to be saddled with a national debt of $16 trillion, they will be locked into a government-controlled economy that requires them to keep their silence or lose their livelihoods.
They can’t say we didn’t warn them.
Update: Linked by Sentry Journal – thanks!

Considering the funk I’ve been in for the past 5 days now, I’ve been thinking about many things. I’ve thought (and said to a few, also) that I don’t recognize my own country anymore. And, the more I think about it, the more I realize, it’s NOT MY country – it’s my KIDS’ and it’s your KIDS’ country, whether we like it or not.
I’m a college football fan (B1G {Big 10} – laugh SEC fans if you will, doesn’t matter!), and I did NOT watch much today at all. I told my dad earlier today, the B1G lost the election for us on Tuesday. Think about it, Madison, Ann Arbor, Iowa City, Columbus, Minneapolis/St. Paul – those places all went Obama in a BIG way, and so did their respective states!
Although I will NEVER be happy about the result of this election, many of our kids seem to be happy about the outcome – and obviously, there are many delusional mature adults who should know better! For better or for worse, they are NOW getting their chance – hopefully they won’t screw it up!!!

As a 21 year old Californian I can at least tell you not all young people believe in the values the left seems to support. Saving grace of this election is the republicans still control the house so I’m not as down as the last presidential election when the Democrats kept control of the senate and gained the executive branch and house of reps. As long as the Republicans stand for what they say they stand for we shouldn’t be to poor off after these next 2 years are done. I hope we have control for at least 4 years. I think our debt or economy isn’t gonna get better though. The stock market lately doesn’t seem to give me confidence in the future economy either, the DOW value seems inflated to me. On a more local note Democrats in my state can pass anything they want now with a full 2/3rd majority in the state senate, house, and the governorship. Some of the laws they haven’t been able to pass without asking the voters or republicans blocked can now be passed. I’m more worried now than ever for my state. I am frustrated knowing that I will have less and less power to do things that I think are fun in my state. The more the Democrats seem(Mostly them who do this) to have power and act on it the more I feel marginalized in a country that is supposed to stand for freedom and the responsibility that always goes with it. Power keeps slowly leaving the individual to the collective majority to make even the smallest decisions. I hope America eventually wakes up and realizes taking power away from a person makes them less motivated, efficient, and the society oppressive as a result.

Talk to your friends, and try to wake them up to reality. I always think New York is bad, then I see what’s happening in CA and I know it could be worse. Hang in there.

They’re getting their chance to discover what it’s like to live under communism—they’ve already screwed it up!

Maybe we didn’t get what or who we voted for . Here is a link I copied and pasted from a tea party email. Hearings in Ohio on the voting machine source code manipulation . Not Good!

It’s the colleges, and before that, public education that has conditioned our kids to be happy with the outcome of the election. The Left has been grooming the voters that turned their backs on America for generations. When I was in college 25 years ago, I thought it “cool” and “radical” to follow my professors down a “new path of enlightenment”. Now I see it for what it was, destruction of core values and brainwashing. I grew up, a lot of college radicals don’t.
