Conservative Republicans in the House have been ousted from committees for not toeing the party line.
Speaker John A. Boehner initiated today a small purge of rebellious Republicans — mostly conservatives — from prominent committees; it’s the latest instance of the Ohio Republican’s clamping down on his fractious conference.
The decisions were made by the GOP Steering Committee at a Monday meeting, which reviewed a spreadsheet listing each GOP lawmaker and how often he or she had voted with leadership, three sources said.Reps. David Schweikert of Arizona and Walter Jones of North Carolina were booted from the Financial Services Committee. Reps. Justin Amash of Michigan and Tim Huelskamp of Kansas were removed from the Budget Committee.
According to a source, Schweikert was told that he was ousted in part because his “votes were not in lockstep with leadership.” (Read More)
Maybe Boehner and the rest of the GOP leadership should spend their time fighting the Democrats rather than the conservatives on their own team.

@lonelycon I wonder what our role in the citizenry can be as the directors of our elected…

Boehner has been wearing an Obama bumper sticker across his forehead anyway.
Negotiations need to be public, not behind closed doors, not by presidential dictum.

Bye bye republicans! No more of my money to you!!! Time for the Tea Party to start a third party for REAL conservatives to have a party of their own. Republicans are throwing in their hats to become Democrat-lite.

It’s a mystery to me what magic this man holds to be re-elected as Speaker as he was just recently.
I will not give any monies to the National Republican Committee as long as progressive Republicans are in charge and are muzzling conservatives. They’re being no different than Democrats.
The representatives that got axed should be screaming bloody murder. It doesn’t matter what they do, as long as they’re conservatives, they’ll never be in the favor of Boehner.
And what happened to Paul Ryan? He’s got national notoriety and remains pretty much silent on this topic.
