The other day I told you about how I washed my son’s iPod Touch after he left it in his pants pocket. That was Wednesday morning. I did not even try to turn it on because I figured it had to be wet on the inside. After doing a quick internet search I put it in container of rice and sealed it up. Then I let it sit in front of a space heater for about 8 hours two days in a row. This evening we put it on the charger and turned it on. Voila – it still works! He played around with it and said it’s working just fine. The only thing we had to do was reset the date and time.
I think the trick is to not turn it on until it’s completely dry.

And if you used fabric softener, the iPod should be soft and fluffy by now.

[...] You shouldn’t try and use it right after washing it, though. And you shouldn’t put it in the dryer, either. Instead, do what this mom-blogger did and stick your iPod in some rice. [...]
