It looks like the policy of leading from behind will continue. President Obama is nominating Senator John Kerry to be Secretary of State after Susan Rice withdrew her name from consideration. It’s expected that Kerry will be confirmed by the Senate without much opposition. But maybe someone will ask him about how he dined with Syrian dictator Bashar Assad in 2009.
President Barack Obama will nominate Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) to be Secretary of State on Friday, according to reports in The New York Times and Associated Press.
I’m sure the Swift Boat veterans will also have something to say about this.
Oh well, at least this means Kerry will no longer be in the Senate.
Check Twitchy for reactions to this news, they’ve already started capturing some of them.
Update: A few reminders from Drudge:
Kerry a Frequent Visitor with Syrian Dictator Bashar Al-Assad…
FLASHBACK: Kerry accused US soldiers of atrocities and ‘terrorizing’ children…

POLL: Scott Brown Would Win Special Senate Election To Replace Kerry…
Update: Linked by Becca Lower – thanks!

This is Kerry’s last assignment before retiring and returning to The Heinz Corporation. He’ll fit like a glove with this administration, building on the foundation of forgone consequence and equivocation for ruinous policy.

You forgot to mention he was in the Vietnam war. Since then, however, he expressed his hatred for our armed forces enough to be forgiven for that sad chapter in his charmed life. When nominated, will he salute, and say “John Kerry, reporting for duty”? What a miserable piece of crap, perfectly in keeping with this despicable administration.
