On NBC News this morning with David Gregory, who violated DC gun laws by brandishing a high capacity magazine the other day, President Obama vowed to throw all of his weight behind whatever gun control scheme VP Joe Biden dreams up.
“I’m going to be putting forward a package and I’m going to be putting my full weight behind it,” Obama said in an interview aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “I’m going to be making an argument to the American people about why this is important and why we have to do everything we can to make sure that something like what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary does not happen again.” …
“I’ve been very clear that an assault-rifle ban, banning these high capacity clips, background checks, that there are a set of issues that I have historically supported and will continue to support,” the president said. …
“I am not going to prejudge the recommendations that are given to me. I am skeptical that the only answer is putting more guns in schools. And I think the vast majority of the American people are skeptical that that somehow is going to solve our problem,” he said.
Obama said that he expected even firearm owners to understand the need for new regulations in the wake of the Connecticut shooting spree that killed 20 young children.
“I think there are a vast majority of responsible gun owners out there who recognize that we can’t have a situation in which somebody with severe psychological problems is able to get the kind of high-capacity weapons that this individual in Newtown obtained and gun down our kids,” Obama said. Nothing about how the left deinstitutionalized the insane so they’re walking among us, or how criminals don’t normally abide by gun laws.
Speaking of gun control, Piers Morgan wrote a long rant about guns in the US and then threatened to deport himself if strict federal gun control laws aren’t passed. I say “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Piers.”

Here we go again, the same old liberal malarkey. Look at all the statistics and you find that gun violence is predominant in the blue states and their lovely cities, like Chicago. In places like Florida, except for the illegals and the inner cities, it is much safer to live. Everyone in rural areas has a shotgun and, usually a pistol, since they know by the time the police they will be dead.
Fight with all you might to leave the freedom of gone ownership alone. That, freedom of speech and freedom of religion (not freedom from religion) are probably the most sacred constitutional rights we have.
Long live the Coinstitution and all of its principles. If you don’t like it, liberals, you are free to go elsewhere.

first of all – since he is a lightweight – it does not mean much if he puts his whole weight behind it. And not only do I not “understand” the need for new INFRINGEMENT, I would bet that I understand more than obama, nancy, diane, chuck, and all the rest of them put together – and i have made more practical (and constitutional) suggestions than any of them – more than one can say for the NY Times. Or Piers Morgan. Isn’t a Morgan a Horse ? Maybe he is related to Mister Ed !
Of course, what I suggested is not as dramatic as confiscating the legally owned arms of Americans, and it does not create any big unionized bureaucracies, so they can pig out at the trough. I merely suggested that folks with experience hammer out some good advice to parents of troubled adolescents. There is no sunset on good advice. And it gets into the culture, rather than trying to rely on the law, which arrives after the fact, and the idea is preventative. At least one point in favor is that Biden does not have his mitts on it.

What the anti-gun peeps are hell-bent on doing is associating ANY gun killing from here forward to Newtown. Katrina became the default tug-at-your-heart hurricane, Newtown will be the keyword for gun control. Meanwhile, thousands will be killed by knifes. Hundreds more will be killed by other means, but they won’t count, no one will care about their deaths, like other natural disaster victims didn’t count post-Katrina. It’s a one crime pony for Obama, basing his need for “full weight behind gun control” because of Newtown, when the crime rate of gun deaths in Chicago goes off the chart. Crazy world. a. Newtown creep did not use an assault rifle. He used two semiautomatic pistols, which require you to pull the trigger one time for each bullet fired.
b. With practice, I could be that fast with my double action revolver and 6 speedloaders (*(liberals now googling ‘speedloader’…)
c. Even Democrats in some places are bitter clingers. Good luck with banning all weapons, which is the goal.
d. Liberals live in some other universe, and I think really the answer is to created two Americas, let them have the over-the-top Liberal states, and see how they do.
