President Obama just trotted out some “ordinary Americans,” who he now believes he’s an expert on, to stand with him before a cheering crowd of supporters and television cameras. The purpose of this appearance was to bring Americans up to date on fiscal cliff negotiations and to vilify Republicans.

As usual, he spoke of taxing the rich so that the middle class, college students and grandmothers don’t get hurt. Nothing about the massive spending that is bankrupting the future of the children who did not get to vote for any of this. Just more talk of “shared sacrifice” which is code for taking even more from the pockets of one group to line the pockets of another group.

It was a truly disgusting display of partisanship and demagoguery that would have made Saul Alinsky proud.

Oh, and the deal they’re working out involves no spending cuts, but they are including increased spending. So anything they raise through tax hikes won’t go toward reducing the deficit or the national debt.
