Senator Chuck Schumer did something Democrats don’t often do and that was admit the truth. Yesterday on Fox News Schumer admitted to Chris Wallace that the only reason he has a problem with the filibuster is because his party now has the majority.
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., acknowledged his past opposition to changing the filibuster rules to weaken the Senate minoroty, but said that he has changed his mind now that he is part of the Senate majority.
Fox News’ Chris Wallace reminded Schumer of the days when he used to praise the Senate for slowing down the legislative process. “Senator, what’s the difference except for the fact that you’re now in the majority?” Wallace asked on Fox News Sunday.
“Nothing,” Schumer replied immediately. “No, nothing, that’s exactly right. And the filibuster, I am not for going to a House of Representatives where 51 votes decides everything. But the filibuster has been overused.”
What a creep.

Wall Street Chucky discriminates against the Minority Party. Where is your diversity Schumer?
During the prior Continuing Resolution and debt debacle in 2011, progressive Schumer showed his knowledge of government (shutting down government would cause an inability of people to receive their social security checks and the military wouldn’t be funded or paid), and the three branches (House, Senate, President).
2006 Harry Reid: “As Majority Leader, I intend to run the Senate with respect for the rules and for the Minority rights the rules protect. The Senate was not established to be efficient. Sometimes the rules get in the way of efficiency. The Senate was established to make sure that Minorities are protected. Majorities can always protect themselves, but Minorities cannot. That is what the Senate is all about.”
