President Obama appeared on MBC this morning after cutting his vacation short due to his complete leadership failure on the fiscal cliff. One of the topics that came up was the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that left four Americans dead including our Ambassador. He blamed the miserable lack of security on “sloppiness.”

“When you read the report, and it confirms what we had already seen based on some of our internal reviews, there was just some sloppiness, not intentional, in terms of how we secure embassies in areas where you essentially don’t have governments that have a lot of capacity to protect those embassies,” said Obama this morning on NBC. “So we’re doing a thorough renew. not only will we implement all the recommendations that were made, but we’ll try to do more than that. You know, with respect to who carried it out, that’s an ongoing investigation. The FBI has sent individuals to Libya repeatedly. We have some very good leads.”

“We have some very good leads.”? He acts like this is just a police investigation. Former Ambassador John Bolton was on Fox News shortly after this interview aired and made the point that this president puts national security at the bottom of his list of priorities. How true. But the Democrats and the press will find a way to blame Republicans.

This isn’t the only topic he talked about. He also blamed Republicans for the fiscal cliff and promised to take away our Second Amendment rights. I’ll have more on that later.
