Via The Other McCain, here’s a video review of Windows 8 that you might want to watch if you’re thinking about getting a new computer. Two words that jumped out were “Epic Fail.”
It’s a little long, but well worth your time if you’re in the market.
Even though you can no longer walk into Best Buy or Staples and buy laptops with the old Windows operating systems, it looks like you can still find them on Amazon.

@lonelycon That’s why I never buy something right as it comes out- I wait til the product has been critiqued in the app. it was designed for

Windows 8 is like Liberals / Socialist Marxists designed their own computer OS in their own image, manner, and attitude towards the people- the way the govern in politics, arrogant, tyrannical, impudent- Insanity and stupidity in and of the real world. But since when have liberals ever cared about doing whats right, what works. They only care about Power and Control- ie; dictating, forcing their insane Will onto the People.

I’ll stick with my Mac. Have been using Windows at work and Mac at home for years, and there is simply no comparison. If I never had to use a Microsoft product, I would be so much happier.

just saw 8 a few days ago – what a pain. And I am used to Linux and Unix and DOS ! No wonder my sister loves her MAC. I went back to my desktop to avoid the touchpad – but my laptop screen looks better ! can’t get a break.

I just recently got a Windows 8 laptop from Gateway as a Christmas present. As a techie myself, I can agree with a LOT of what you said in this review. Although, I was able to figure out some of these problems within the first 30 minutes or so; I am not as happy about the operating system I should be. While I am stuck with the laptop, I am definitely not stuck with Windows 8. I will be getting a copy of Windows 7 to install. Maybe I should just get to know all of the weaknesses and strengths of Windows 8 though so I can work through them with the less technically skilled in the near future. Thanks for the excellent review.
