President Obama may have cut his Christmas vacation short due to the fiscal cliff debacle that he could have avoided altogether, but that doesn’t mean his vacation is over. He’s flying back on our dime for a little more R & R.
In a move that is rich in irony, President Obama agreed Tuesday night to sign an emergency deficit reduction bill that does almost nothing to rein in spending and then jetted out to Hawaii to resume his vacation at an extra cost of more than $3 million to taxpayers.
The price tag is in addition to more than $4 million that is already being spent on the Obamas’ Hawaii idyll, bringing the total cost of the excursion to well over $7 million.
The added cost was incurred because by the time the Obamas return from Hawaii – whenever that is – the president will have used Air Force One to travel to Honolulu and back twice. (Read More)
Update: Obama didn’t even sign the fiscal cliff bill before he took off. One has to wonder why he even left Hawaii in the first place, since he ended up outsourcing the negotiations to Biden. I guess he did it for the photo ops and the chance to spike the football before the cameras.

It was all planned from the start. He wanted the optics of seeming like he was cutting his vacation short to fly back to Washington to “save the day.” Everything is about appearances to President Thin-Skin, from not acting to save our Ambassador and citizens in Benghazi to saying his imaginary son (had he had one) would look like Trayvon, to this.
Remember when President Do As I Say and Not as I Do commented on how, when one’s finances were bad, one ought not go gambling in Vegas? Isn’t it nice how that doesn’t apply to him? That while the economy continues to tank, he spends more and more, living like a King?
And just think, if we had an actual media vetting him, instead of a de-facto propoganda arm for the Leftists, he would get called on things like this.
