As I write this Hillary Clinton is still testifying before Congress. There’s been a lot of talk about “clear eyes,” which is a line she may have lifted from Mitt Romney’s campaign. Or maybe it has something to do with her new Mr. Magoo glasses. Anyway, her opening statement was missing a few key facts, and she has shed more than a few tears. But the biggest moment of the day was her outburst when asked by Senator Ron Johnson why the administration continued to push the lie that the Benghazi attack was a spontaneous response to a months old video.
“What difference at this point does it make?” That was her answer. Now lefties are outraged that people are quoting her, saying she was taken out of context. Seriously. Here’s the video, in context. Is this not quote worthy?
Via The Other McCain, Ed Morrissey thought of why it makes a difference.
Well, gosh, I can think of a few reasons why it matters. First, it mattered enough for the Obama administration to send Susan Rice to five different Sunday talk shows to insist that the sacking was a spontaneous demonstration of anger over a months-old YouTube video, while saying that there was “no evidence” that it was a terrorist attack. On one of those appearances, the president of Libya told US audiences the exact opposite — that it was the work of terrorists and that they had a pretty good idea of who they were. If it didn’t matter, what was Susan Rice doing when she tried pushing that meme, which the White House had to abandon within days as leaks within State and CIA made plain that there was no demonstration?
It also matters because Barack Obama at the time had been bragging about crippling al-Qaeda while on the campaign trail. That false narrative made it seem as though State and our intel community couldn’t have possibly known that the sacking would have occurred, and got blindsided by a grassroots reaction to the video. Instead, it turned out to be a planned terrorist action about which the US embassy in Libya had warned State for months, repeatedly requesting more security.
Read the whole thing. Later she was asked again why she didn’t appear on the Sunday shows instead of Susan Rice and she said that she has other things she likes to do on Sunday mornings, and it’s not her favorite thing to do. Heaven forbid she should be asked to do anything if it’s not her favorite thing to do.
Oh, and just as an aside, she just mentioned the prior US fight against communism without any hint of irony. Go figure.

I watched it all. My eyeballs popped out a few times. I wanted to throw things at the TV. I wanted to shout at the fawning Democrats, especially the ones who thanked her for being a woman. Ye God. Really?
But as they just said on The Five on Fox, it’s over now. Clinton has “testified”. Obama can go play golf this weekend. Done.
In my mind, this is a huge failure of Clinton and Obama. Huge!

With only a few exceptions, the GOP Senators were as bad as the Democrats. Could they have fawned anymore? Every time I caught some of the testimony someone else was praising her and thanking her for her “service.” And how many people thanked her for her work with the LGBT community? What does that have to do with being Secretary of State.

“what difference does it make” was pretty much her reaction to Bill & Monica, too.

I watched some of the hearings yesterday, I was sure that I was watching Madame Clinton on an episode of the Muppets! Everyone was so jovial and accommodating of her absolute FAILURE to lead.
After, the next woman candidate for the 2016 Democratic Presidential Campaign, must be lauded for her great excuse making!
Kudos to the few who called her to account for failure to read the cries for help emanating from the Libyan consulate! As Senator Rand Paul said, she should have been relieved of duty for cause.
But since she probably has less blood on her hands that Gun Running Eric, she should be absolved of all lies, distortions, and abetting the enemy!
Then all the little Muppets could rejoice for the greater good of moral decay!

Amazing, Sec of State Hillary Clinton’s failed leadership, along with her boss, is what enabled and caused the situation to occur, causing the deaths of a US Ambassador, and 3 security consulate personnel. So she, the Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, as usual, decides to play emotional theatrics, to play the self-righteous indignation card, as if she were on the committee panel questioning the defendant, thus deflecting the direct accusations, ie; the factually truth against her, for which she typically is not willing to accept.
Thank God for Sen Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, and all the other Republican members on this Hearing Committee, who hammered this inept incompetent liberal fascist ideologue with the Truth, with facts, with common sense, for her failed leadership !!
This is her job, it is what she is supposed to do, supposed to be there to ensure, to oversee the priority and critical aspects like the security / safety of US State Dept Ambassador’s and the US Embassy Consulates around the world as the US Sec. of State.. Not act like some low to mid level bureaucrat.
The deflecting, evading, excusing, ie; the bull crap from her is so pathetic, so outrageous, so insufferably disgusting, it makes your blood boil, just like it does with Obama, her same like ilk Boss-the head anti-American liberal socialist marxist islamist traitor-in chief.
