John Kerry’s confirmation as Secretary of State sailed through the Senate today. The vote was 94 to 3. The only Republicans who voted against him were Senators Ted Cruz, James Inhofe and John Cornyn. But Obama calls the Republicans “absolutists”? Good grief, they’re lap dogs.
According to WaPo Kerry will officially take over for Hillary Clinton on Friday.
The only positive thing about this is that he’ll no longer be a Senator. So there’s that.
Update: Linked by Big Pulpit – thanks!

Perhaps his soon-to-be-former colleagues in the Senate viewed that as a feature, not a bug. An alternative thesis is that the brand-new revelation that Kerry served in Vietnam swayed their vote….

This is really pathetic. I hope all of the other older vets like me remember this the next time they go to vote for a so-called conservative. John Kerry represents the very worst of hypocrisy and the supposed patriots that let him slip through so easily are a disgrace.
The next time you wonder why the military is losing its morale so rapidly just remember two names: Barack (Gut the military while pretending to support it) Obama and John (I saw blown up bodies in Viet Nam) Kerry.
The only thing good to say about this is that Ted Cruz is, once again, showing himself to be the kind of conservative that we need to clone in the Senate. And I am deeply disappointed by my new Senator, Marco Rubio, on this one.
Just remember, this man is a disgrace to his country and should never serve her in any public position. PERIOD. God save the Republic.
