Heh! I was going to say that Obama supporters had to wake up and smell the coffee, but thanks to the latest tax increase they might not be able to afford coffee. I guess we can say they had a rude awakening, and some still may not have received their first paycheck of 2013.
Shocker. Democrats who supported the president’s re-election just had NO idea that his steadfast pledge to raise taxes meant that he was really going to raise taxes. They thought he planned to just hit those filthy “1 percenters,” you know, the ones who earned fortunes through their inventiveness and hard work. They thought the free ride would continue forever.
So this week, as taxes went up for millions of Americans — which Republicans predicted throughout the campaign would happen — it was fun to watch the agoggery of the left.
“I know to expect between $93 and $94 less in my paycheck on the 15th,” wrote the ironically named “RomneyLies.”
“My boyfriend has had a lot of expenses and is feeling squeezed right now, and having his paycheck shrink really didn’t help,” wrote “DemocratToTheEnd.”
“BlueIndyBlue” added: “Many of my friends didn’t realize it, either. Our payroll department didn’t do a good job of explaining the coming changes.”
So let’s explain something to our ill-informed Democratic friends. In 2009, Mr. Obama enacted a “holiday” on the payroll tax deduction from employees’ paychecks, dropping the rate from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent. But like the holidays, the drop ended, and like New Year‘s, the revelers woke up the next morning with a massive hangover and a pounding head. (Read More)
The article quotes someone else who said that his tax amounts to about $86 a month and all of the things she could buy with that $86. One thing it doesn’t appear anyone picked up on is that that $86 a month won’t be going into the economy. So that will mean fewer jobs for other workers.
But hey, you get what you vote for. Maybe next time people should do their homework.

@lonelycon Where are the details? What increase at what rate for whom?

Well, I guess Veep, Bite Me was right all along about everyone having some skin in the game. These crybabies whine and bitch when it’s them having to pony up for their Dear Leader’s progressive policies. Oh my, I can feel their pain.
Oh, and speaking of skin in the game; maybe those complaining should get up to speed and read where their missing dollars are going:

Think any of these idiots will finally grasp the idea that is the government can give, it can also take away, as this textbook example demonstrates?
Probably not. silly question.

A school teacher I know can now tell her fellow teachers “I told you so”. They voted enmasse for Big O. How could this happen? He said only the super-rich would get screwed. This guy has not even started to punish the American people. The “best is yet to come” It will be a nightmare!

I tried explaining the payroll tax ‘increase’ to a co-worker of mine who was stunned that his first paycheck in 2013 was smaller than his last one in 2012. Anyone remember the D House of Representatives member screaming ‘Republicans, where is your soul?’ when that 2% holiday vote came up? Now that the election is over, Dems couldn’t care less about that 2%.
Seriously…I would have better luck preaching vegetarianism to a tribe of cannibals than trying to explain common sense to a liberal.
