Colin Powell voted for and supported President Obama in the last two elections, despite the fact that Obama is the most liberal president we’ve ever had. So why does Powell continue to call himself a Republican? Does he think it gives him credibility when he says stuff like this:
“There’s also a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party,” Powell said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “What do I mean by that? What I mean by that is they still sort of look down on minorities.”
Powell, who endorsed Obama, pointed to a number of statements that were directed at Obama as evidence that there is still racism within the party.
“When I see a former governor say that the president is ‘shuckin’ and jivin’.’ That’s a racial-era slave term,” Powell said, referring to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin using the term to describe Obama’s response to the attacks in Libya.
Powell also pointed to former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu, who was an aggressive surrogate for Mitt Romney, for calling Obama “lazy” after the first debate during the campaign.
“He didn’t say he was slow, he was tired, he didn’t do well; he said he was ‘lazy,’” Powell said “Now, it may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of us who are African Americans, the second word is “shiftless,” and then there’s a third word that goes along with it.” (Read More)
Powell doesn’t seem to mind when Democrats say similar things.
For the record… New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney have both used the term “shuck and jive” but were given a pass by the liberal media.
I guess it’s easier to play that tired old race card than it is to defend this president on his horrible record.

@lonelycon Because the GOP is quite nearly the statist organization that the Dems are. So it doesn’t matter.

I say he should be expelled from the party. Even when he was working for Bush 2.0, he acted like a douche nozzle liberal. Liberalism is a disease that can only be cured by death.

The reason Colin Powell doesn’t have a problem with what Cuomo and the boys says is because it’s different when you’re a progressive. You know everything; you’re infallible and can’t be wrong. Really?
The only thing that Colin Powell accomplished with his comments was to show one more time that he is nothing but another progressive. And unfortunately, there are many R officeholders who work to support him while saying something different to their constituents. They are dishonest and have no convictions excepot reelection at any cost.
.
They reason that so many people still say great things about Powell is because the moonbats in the MSM love anything that progressives say and do.
I truly don’t care what the MSM says, Oh, I read it periodically just to stay up to date with their lunacy, but I can learn much more from sites like this or Laura Ingraham, etc.
Remember, the truth shall set you free. Don’t blindly follow anything any organization or person says blindly. Study their record and history and then make your own decision Iif you want to truly keep America as the land of the free you’ll know what to do.

This isn’t too hard to figure out. Powell has been pretty much out of the spotlight for a number of years now and there are a couple of things that probably bother him. One is that the left connects him with crying wolf about “weapons of mass destruction” while in the Bush administration and would like to make amends for that leftist meme. Two, is that by now being on the “B” list of the beltway cocktail crowd, vilifying Republicans may get him a choice administration appointment by Dear Leader that would vault him back to the “A” list status networking circuit. But it’s unfortunate that historically he’ll just go down as another political hack without a core.

Heard Colin Powell on the radio yesterday – “the country is changing demographically”.
How about that. I have been paying attention to demographics since 1965 – so what took him so long ?
And now that we have a firm grasp of the obvious, we might ask – if it is such a good thing, why has there been so much social disintegration ? What is he getting at anyway ?
It is time to take a tour of the ACTUAL effects of out-of-control immigration. Shall we start in the Bronx ? Bring a camera, because it is quite visible. How long did it take for the South Bronx to not look like Dresden and Hamburg, or are there still sections that look like a war zone.
And I say this in spite of my respect for Colin and Stormin Norman for avoiding a big mess in the Middle East. That was a huge relief.
All wars have peculiar and unanticipated effects. I have been wondering about the effects on some Americans of seeing news about suicide bombers. Before the Gulf War that was fairly rare. Then it became a daily occurrence. Those who think it has no effect should consider that some people are deeply affected by anyone who takes their life for some cause. I suspect this sort of thing might well account for the increase in incidents like Sandy Hook – a kind of Americanized version of suicide bombing. Some people “get ideas”.
Speaking of Andrew Cuomo – and Joe Biden – I have been re-reading Joyce Lee Malcolm’s “Guns and Violence” and notice that Biden “if it saves only one life” – see page 129 ! Oh, and ALL THE OTHER ITEMS in these gun control bills are right out of arguments made in the House of Lords to disarm the “lower classes” in England. First they proclaim how Free is England, and then they order ambassadors in Europe to report on gun control laws on the continent. Talk about hypocrites.

Right on, my friend. They use stupid arguments because all they know is touchy feely. Yeah, let’s spend a billion here and there because if it only saves one life its worth it. Baloney!
They are just like the Hollywood crowd, it makes them feel good then it has got to be good.
We’re in a war, right now a peaceful (except for the union thugs) war for the heart and soul of America. If people don’t believe this, all they need to do is look at history. The parallels to 1930s Germany are many and the German Sheeple and their Pariiament just sat back and watched Hitler do what he wanted.
The question for each of us is: What will we do? Are we frozen by fear or can we work through it? Once each of us answers this question, we will know what we are going to do.

Note to Bush 2: Wrapping a horse turd in an emperor’s uniform no more makes Napoleon of it than putting a Republican suit on a left wing Democrat makes him a Republican.

Colon Powell wasn’t even a good soldier, but he was extremely good at kissing tail. He was a political general as opposed to a fighting general.
And yes I misspelled his name on purpose.
