Daikin McQuay, a manufacturer of HVAC systems, is closing the doors to its Auburn, NY plant next year. According to 9WSYR hundreds of employees will lose their jobs. Daikin McQuay is one of the largest employers in the city of Auburn. The company will be moving the Auburn operations to Tennessee.

Don Winter, vice president for marketing, confirmed the upcoming closure, saying the transition will begin in April of this year and will be complete by December 2014.

He said operations will be moving down to a plant of a sister company, Goodman, which manufactures similar equipment, in Fayetteville, Tenn.
