President Obama came out this morning to again remind us just how dreadful it will be if the spending cuts his White House proposed and that he signed into law take effect. He said all of our lives will be threatened when criminals are released from prison and air traffic controllers and border agents are fired. It’s so horrific that Congress is on vacation and the president took a long weekend to golf in Florida. But pay no mind to that, just look at the human props he brought with him.
So, how bad will the sequestration really be? Look at this chart showing the share of the federal budget the sequester will eliminate. Quelle horreur!
It will some spine to weather the fallout but the GOP should let Obama choke on it.

Yes, but, but, but the Republicans fully supported the sequester, the purpose of which was to force Congress into enacting a reasonable and effective deficit reduction, one which includes increased revenue from tax reforms as well as judicious spending cuts. However, Republicans wish deficit reduction from the middle and poor, as they shoot themselves in the foot one more time.
PS: That first responder gal on the left of our President has beautiful, beautiful eyes, which even Republican extremists can admire.

Well put! This president has made a career out of keeping up appearances. He is as good at telling half-truths as Bush was at messing up speeches. I just hope the American People get fed up with the bs soon and demand results from Washington.

Uh no! That’s a completely misleading title to this thread. The sequester was part of the BCA in 2011. Democrates wanted the debt ceiling raised with a clean vote but of course, the Republicans held it hostage once again and demanded cuts. Boehner himself said “I got 98% of what I wanted” in that agreement, and now they are blaming Obama for the whole thing, even though it’s still them who refuse to compromise.
Republicans don’t even know what they are for on a yearly basis anymore.
And the American people are fed up with it, just not in the way you’d like. You’ll find out in 2014, just who they are fed up with.
