Our country is $16.5 trillion in debt. Lawmakers haven’t passed a budget, let alone a balanced budget in years. They’re bankrupting our children, yet Nancy Pelosi believes that a pay cut for congressmen is beneath the dignity of the job. She’s got some nerve.
“I don’t think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do,” Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. “I think it’s necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded.”
The comments were made in the context of the looming sequester, which would force across-the-board cuts affecting most federal offices, including Congress. With lawmakers nowhere near a deal to avert those cuts, federal agencies are bracing for ways to absorb them with minimum damage to programs and personnel. (Read More)

Put ‘em on a commission plan. Pay for performance. But not just for passing bills, but passing bills that are needed. Rate the bills by whether or not they are constitutional. And, put ‘em on our worthless Obamacare with the same rates and limit retirement to 401K w/a 3% match if the performance standards are met.
If we used this criteria, you wouldn’t have to worry about term limits. The scoundrels would be quickly running for the doors.
