The AP reports that Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) said he will vote to confirm Chuck Hagel as defense secretary, despite the fact that he joined the filibuster against Hagel last week. So, what changed his mind? Meh.
“He’s probably as good as we’re going to get,” Shelby told the Decatur (Ala.) Daily.

Here’s the thing, even if one is to disregard Hagel’s pro-Iran, anti-Isreal record, his abysmal showing at his confirmation hearing should be enough for any thinking senator to vote against him. Is this really the guy they want running the Department of Defense? The man is without a clue.

Well, you’ll never know, will you, unless you call “BS” on Hagel, toss him back over the fence into the lap of Ozymandias-on-the-Potomac and tell he gets a “do-over” to try again with some other schmuck.
You (WE!) might just get lucky and get someone who has at least a smidgen of a clue to run the organization chartered to keep our (and YOUR OWN!) collective butts safe.

Its sad and surprising that our Senator Richard Shelby would vote for Mr.Hagel. From what I am seeing we don’t need a Republican Party. Republicans are affraid to stand for the people they represent. They are weak minded and have no backbone. They need to disband the party. We need true conservatives that will stand for the Contitution and the people they represent. We really can’t complain, we voted for Obama and the RepubDemocrats and the Democrats. So I guess we get what we get. I will never forget what you did Mr. Shelby. Don’t ever ask for my vote again.
