Here’s The GOP Post-Mortem

Here’s the official GOP post-mortem self examination everybody’s been waiting for. It’s one hundred pages long, but I’ve only had time to go through the first twenty pages. You should be able to scroll through it right here, but if there’s a problem try this link. (It takes a little while to load.) Notable is that the authors of the report stress that they are “not a policy committee,” and the rebranding from “Grand Old Party” to “Growth and Opportunity Party.”

What do you think? Is it all squishy, or did you find some good ideas? I guess the first step in solving a problem is identifying the problem. Only time will tell if any of the ideas are successfully implemented to translate into winning campaigns and getting this country back on the right track.

Some related reading: The party is now working with Silicon Valley in an effort to match the Democrats’ GOTV advantage, Karl Rove’s involvement is sure to rile up some conservatives. Also, a new poll shows that voters agree with Republican principles and policy ideas until they hear they’re Republican ideas.
