Senator John McCain must have thought he didn’t anger enough people yesterday when he took to the Senate floor to slam Senator Rand Paul because later the mean old coot doubled down on the insults. According to The Washington Examiner, he called Paul and Ted Cruz “wacko birds” during an interview with HuffPo, saying that they don’t represent mainstream Republicans, as if he has a clue.
“It’s always the wacko birds on right and left that get the media megaphone,” McCain told Huffington Post’s Jon Ward in a story titled “John McCain: Getting Back To Maverick, With An Eye On Retirement.
He added, “I think it can be harmful if there is a belief among the American people that those people are reflective of the views of the majority of Republicans. They’re not.”
Ward wrote: “I asked McCain to clarify who, specifically, he was talking about.”
McCain said, “Rand Paul, Cruz, Amash, whoever.”
Despite McCain’s view, several GOP leaders, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, praised Paul’s efforts. McConnell even said he was “proud” of Paul, further proof of a growing divide in the Senate Republican caucus. (Read More)

Senator McCain is a Vietnam War hero and a patriot but he has lost his way over the decades in Washington DC. McCain considers himself a “moderate”; I would call him a repeat capitulator. His “stellar” performance in his presidential run a few years ago defending then, Senator Obama was proof enough for me.
He’s become as much of a narcissist for lens time as his “friend from the other side of the isle” Chuck U. Schumer, whom he did not mention as a “wacko bird”. Sounding out of place and making you wince on sight, he reminds me of cinema star that don’t exit the mainstream gracefully.
McCain does more damage than good now so he’s a loose cannon and a liability to the Party. I’m ashamed of him for his politics and I’m neither a registered Republican or live in Arizona.

Michigan has it correct when he says McCain is a “moderate”. That to me means he doesn’t stand for anything; he waits to see which way the wind is blowing before he takes any stand. He has no firm values except making sure that his buddies in the defense industry keep making big money on the back of the poor troops who have to do the dirty work. He always favors war no matter what; this is where his funding comes from.
Paul, on the other hand, is grounded in the Constitution and will stand his ground against these childish insults. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ll #standwithrand.

I WISH McCain and Graham and other RINOs would just GO AWAY! I’ve realized that these guys seem to be part of the GOP for the sole purpose of taking it down. It’s a type of Cultural Marxism that pervades our government as it does our society.
McCain and the rest are too concerned about being politically correct (which is another term for Cultural Marxism). Rand followed the guidelines of the Constitution (though Reid and others would obviously like to remove or limit filibustering).
