This is awesome. Senator Ted Cruz stood on the Senate floor and responded to his critics, including Senior Senator from Arizona John McCain, who has called Cruz and others “whacko birds.” McCain’s latest slam on Cruz and his other younger colleagues is that they push the Democrats too far. As if they should just quietly go along with the Democrats in that oh-so-august chamber while they politely and decorously sell us and our children down a river of debt while eroding our liberties and freedom.
Well Cruz is having none of it. Watch and enjoy 10 minutes of awesome. I wish all of our senators sounded like this. Cruz noted that constituents don’t really care about procedural niceties, but we do care about being bankrupted. The current issue is whether it should only take 50 votes to yet again raise the debt limit, or should it take 60. Harry Reid and Barack Obama want to do it with 50 votes to shut down debate. They want a blank check. Cruz and some others want 60 votes, and the debate that goes along with it. We need more whacko birds and few Rinos and progressives.
