So you left the Republican party and registered as some other obscure party supporter or an independent. I understand that completely, but now we need to suck it up, hold our noses and mark that spot that says “Republican” and fix the party. We need as many conservative and libertarian minded people as possible to take the party back to the principles it is supposed to represent and support. As bad as the party has become, Ted Cruz is still Republican; Rand Paul is still Republican, Mike Lee is still Republican.
It is the progressive wing that has usurped the party. Reagan had to stand up to the same thing when he ran. As bad as the party is and as bad as it is to deal with all the stupid party mailings and phone calls it will be much worse if we allow the party to be completely taken over. The country is at stake and the small sacrifice of putting up with another election season as a Republican is worth it if we can work together to take a few more positions and push back.
This is not going to be fixed in one cycle. It is going to take a few I think, and the more we win, the harsher the establishment progressives will be – but we must win.
Now becoming a registered Republican is where we can show the establishment just how small a group they are. The new conservative groups out there are all about educating the public and growing the movement. The establishment is all about appeasing to groups and simply holding on. America likes fighters with optimism not weak-kneed conciliatory compromisers.
If you say it a few times in a row it’s not so bad. Try it. Reeee-pub-li-can, reeee-pub-li-can, reeee-pub-li-can, now faster, republican republican republican republican. Very good. See, it’s not as bad now.
Let us take charge of a party trying to commit suicide, revive it and strengthen it. Lincoln didn’t give up on the Constitution or the republic, Reagan didn’t give up on the Constitution or the republic, and we can’t – ever.
The Republican party establishment doesn’t need to be funded by us. Our funding should support true Republicans and groups that espouse the true ideals the Republican party was created to represent. So when you register as Republican this election season, send the establishment a little note like I did and then help take the party over. I’ll see you in the fight.
