Politico interviewed Jesse Jackson for a piece on “Obama, Race and Class” and Jackson was his usual nasty self.
Jesse Jackson, who more than anyone occupies the no man’s land between his mentor King and Obama, the man who won the political office he prized, told POLITICO he “absolutely” thinks congressional Republicans are motivated by race in opposing the president’s policies.
“The tea party is the resurrection of the Confederacy, it’s the Fort Sumter tea party,” Jackson said.
Someone needs to remind Jackson which party it was that institutionalized racism.
Other than that the Politico piece isn’t really worth reading, but be sure to read the take on it at NewsBusters.
Also, Rush Limbaugh thinks Obama’s commemoration of the Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech will be all about himself. I think that’s a pretty good bet.
