New York Times Outs Clinton Foundation Cronysim: Glitzy Spending Troubles Attorneys

This is priceless. The 10-year-old Clinton Foundation will soon be renamed the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. Attorneys have come to some “unsettling” conclusions, and the New York Times is outing the problems – such as the supervising Clinton board “rotating” among “old Clinton hands.”

Chelsea, Bill and Hill

The Telegraph sums up the 4-page online NYT article (all emphasis mine):

The Clintons have never been able to separate the impulses to help others and to help themselves, turning noble philanthropic ventures into glitzy, costly promos for some future campaign (can you remember a time in human history when a Clinton wasn’t running for office?).

And their “Ain’t I Great?!” ethos attracts the rich and powerful with such naked abandon that it ends up compromising whatever moral crusade they happen to have endorsed that month.

NYT – start with this:

This fall, Mrs. Clinton and her staff will move into offices at the foundation’s new headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, occupying two floors of the Time-Life Building. Amid speculation about her 2016 plans, Mrs. Clinton is adding major new initiatives on women, children and jobs to what has been renamed the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.

What happened to Harlem? I have the answer. Bill’s Harlem office is still his personal office where “7-10 interns support the office each semester” (snicker).

The glitz, the wife, the daughter…:

…It [The Clinton Foundation] ran multimillion-dollar deficits for several years, despite vast amounts of money flowing in.

…Chelsea, taking on a dominant new role as the family grappled with the question of whether the foundation — and its globe-spanning efforts to combat AIDS, obesity and poverty — would survive its founder.

Chelsea joined the board of the Clinton Foundation in 2011 and is the Vice chairwoman. This will give you a chuckle:

Ms. Clinton has also grown worried that the foundation she stood to inherit would collapse without her father, who turns 67 next week. Mr. Clinton, who had quadruple-bypass surgery in 2004 and no longer eats meat or dairy products, talks frequently about his own mortality.

Mr. Catsimatidis said Ms. Clinton “has to learn how to deal with the whole world because she wants to follow in the footsteps of her father and her mother.” NYT Page 4

Fundraising by the Clinton three-some is underway. Maybe there’s an event near you…if you’re in the Hamptons or London.

Ms. Clinton, who could be Mrs. Mezvinsky if she wanted to be, has purchased – with the Mr. – an almost 5,000 sq ft in the Flatiron District in Manhattan, 4 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, top floor, $10 Million. Ms. Clinton is still affiliated with NBC where she was hired as a special correspondent to “make a difference,” with EVEN the Washington Post declaring her “one of the most boring people of her era”…”so very little charisma – none at all.” More on Chelsea Clinton’s renewed contract with NBC and “Making a Difference” here.
