Senator Ted Cruz appeared Thursday on Sean Hannity’s show. It was his first television appearance since his epic 21 hour speech on the Senate floor. He responded to President Obama’s over the top rhetoric, saying he thinks Obama’s worried. Hannity asked him to respond to the comments made by Senator John McCain, and Cruz said that although he disagrees with McCain on this issue he admires and appreciates McCain’s service to our country. Ever the statesman.
They covered other topics, including the cloture vote, and Cruz called on Republicans to stand together. Unfortunately, hell will freeze over before most Senate Republicans will do so.
Hannity also brought up how Senator Joe Manchin is now talking about delaying the individual mandate. No wonder Harry Reid wants to ram this through ASAP. Oh, and for the sake of posterity there’s a clip of Obama as a Senator calling President Bush “unpatriotic” because of the national debt, which was about $9 trillion or so at the time.
Here’s the video.
Also, be sure to read a letter sent to Senator Mitch McConnell from Representatives Jim Bridenstine, Dave Schweikert and a number of other House Republicans. Basically, they let him know that any vote by Republicans for cloture is a vote for Obamacare. We’ll find out soon enough which Republicans decide to stand with Obama and the Democrats on this.
