Well, isn’t this typical? During the partial government shutdown, or “slimdown” as some are calling it, the IRS will still collect tax payments but they won’t be processing any tax returns.
The IRS is still collecting taxes during the governmentshutdown, but it isn’t sending out refunds — and it’s also stopped complying with a subpoena to turn over documents to members of Congress who are investigating the agency’s targeting of tea party groups.
