The donations for Liz Cheney’s Senate campaign should start pouring in now that Senator John McCain said he will campaign for Senator Mike Enzi. McCain even mocked Cheney’s primary challenge against Enzi, who has been in the US Senate since the 1990′s.
“Liberal Republican Senators like John McCain and Olympia Snowe have endorsed my opponent,” the daughter of the former vice president wrote, before asking for cash. “We must be doing something right if these folks are fighting so hard to preserve the status quo.”
The 2008 GOP presidential nominee has said he is open to campaigning for three-term incumbent Enzi, who Cheney is challenging in next year’s primary.
“It’s laughable,” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers responded when sent the email.
Enzi might not be as bad as McCain, but he did work hard to push through an internet sales tax. Plus, nearly two decades in DC is long enough.
