Senate Conservatives Fund Hits McConnell With New Ad

McConnell Reid Obama

Senate Conservatives Action, the PAC arm of the Senate Conservatives Fund, are hitting Senator Mitch McConnell with this new TV ad in Kentucky. The cost of the ad buy is $330,000. The SCF is supporting Matt Bevin who has launched a primary campaign against McConnell.

Here’s the transcript of the ad:

Conservatives asked Mitch McConnell to lead the fight against Obamacare.

He didn’t listen.

Instead, McConnell helped Barack Obama and Harry Reid fund Obamacare.

Now Kentucky families are paying the price.

Premiums up, lost coverage, even lost jobs.

When Kentucky needed Mitch McConnell the most, he let us down.

Now he’s asking us to give him six more years in Washington?

Senate Conservatives Action is responsible for the content of this message.

In related news, McConnell told a group of K Street lobbyists that he’s going to start fighting. But it isn’t the Democrats he’s going to fight, he plans to go after the base of his own party. He’s also slinging a lot of mud at Bevin, whose campaign recently created a website called Mudslinging Mitch to counter the attacks coming from the McConnell campaign.

The SCA released the following statement:

Alexandria, VA — Senate Conservatives Action (SCA) announced a new 30-second TV ad Tuesday, which exposes U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell’s decision to help the Democrats fund Obamacare. The ad (“Kentucky“) will run statewide on broadcast and cable television from October 30 to November 12. The cost of the ad buy is $330,000.

“Mitch McConnell says he opposes Obamacare when he’s in Kentucky, but then he helps the Democrats fund Obamacare when he’s in Washington,” said SCA Executive Director Matt Hoskins. “Mitch McConnell has lost his way. It’s why more and more Kentucky Republicans are supporting Matt Bevin, a true conservative who will fight for their values.”
