On Thursday Senator John Mccain expressed regret for calling some of his republican colleagues “wacko birds.” On Friday he appeared on Fox News and did nothing but bash and blame his Republican colleagues. I guess since he didn’t resort to name calling this time it’s supposed to be okay.
Here’s the video, if you can stand it. I know when I listened to it live I was seething. If you have hypertension or ulcers you may just want to skip it altogether. He even reiterated his belief that Obamacare is settled law and we should just try to tinker with it a little bit. He must have just met with Nancy Pelosi.
For the record, the Republicans did not vote for a shutdown. They voted, over and over again, to fund the government. They just didn’t include everything the Democrats wanted. So the Democrats rejected the bills they passed and the government was partially shut down. Why is it that college students get it, but McCain and his ilk do not?
Oh, and I love how he cited a Wall Street Journal poll, noting that the WSJ is not a liberal news outlet. He failed to mention that they partner with NBC for their polls.
While I appreciate McCain’s service to our country and what he went through in Vietnam, that doesn’t change the fact that he’s as mean spirited and spiteful as President Obama. Maybe even more so, since Obama usually directs his ire at the opposing party.
