Hell will freeze over before this happens, but Senator Ted Cruz does have a point, President Obama should apologize to Americans for siccing Obamacare on us.
“For the State of the Union, one of the things President Obama really oughta do is look in the TV camera and say to the over 5 million Americans all across this country who’ve had their health insurance canceled because of ObamaCare, to look in the camera and say, ‘I’m sorry,’ ” Cruz said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” (Read More)
Speaking of Cruz’s appearance on “Face the Nation,” check out what CBS conveniently edited out of the broadcast of that interview.
Update: Cruz has been getting plenty of airtime lately. Here he is on Fox News with Gretchen Carlson.
He also talked about Benghazi, and Hillary Clinton saying that’s her biggest regret. Here are some of the key quotes:
“Over 5 million people trusted President Obama when he said ‘if you like your health insurance plan you can keep it; if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.’ We now know that statement wasn’t true, and if he was actually taking responsibility for his action, he would number one say I am sorry, but then number two, he would act to fix it. Empty words don’t mean a whole lot.
“For President Obama’s apology to mean something… he’s got to stop making it worse.
“To the 5 million people who have lost their health insurance, they [the Obama Administration] have no answers; to all of the young people whose health insurance is sky rocketing, they have no answers; to all of the millions who’ve lost their jobs or are forced into part time work, they have no answers. They don’t intend to do anything to fix it.
“If you compare the number of people who have gotten insurance… to the 5 million people who have lost their insurance… it would have been cheaper to write a check to each one of those 330,000 people [who didn’t have insurance] for a million dollars each. That would have cost about 1/6 as much as Obamacare.
“Hillary Clinton today says she regrets that four brave Americans lost their lives… but at the same time, she doesn’t want to do anything to fix it. If she really was sorry, then she would stand up and join me and 22 other Senators calling for a joint select committee in Congress to investigate… why nobody has been held accountable.
“A little over a year ago… President Obama said nobody cares more than I do about Benghazi. To the best of my recollection, that was the last time president Obama ever uttered the word Benghazi. If he was telling the truth… then I would expect that tomorrow he would call for some accountability now.”
