Energy prices not high enough yet? Feds set to put the squeeze on nuclear power as industry prepares for its own Deepwater Horizon style fallout

May 12, 2011
By

Who was it that said “never let a crisis go to waste?” Just as the Obama administration took advantage of the BP oil spill to enact an unwarranted and economically ruinous moratorium on all deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, it appears that nuclear power companies are next in line for similar draconian...

March 20, 2011
By

This doesn't sound good. There are reports of a large oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico, about 20 miles from the site of the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion. It does not appear that this new slick is related to last year's oil spill. The Coast Guard is investigating.

Creating Jobs Isn’t Really Part Of Obama’s Agenda

March 18, 2011
By

An administration that was serious about creating jobs could do a number of things to make things better for workers in America. They could start by opening up oil and drilling leases. Not only would thousands of Americans find work in that industry, but the rest of us would have more money in our...

GOP Hits Obama on Energy Policy – It’s About Time

March 8, 2011
By

Geez, it took the Republicans long enough to start blasting President Obama for his wretched energy policy. His intentions have been obvious for quite some time, yet they’ve remained silent. They should have started vocally pointing out to the American people what this president of ours has been up to since the moment he...

bp-obama-logo

I have whiplash from the constant shaking of my head over the policies and procedures of our current administration. From protecting our borders with beanbags, to giving the first permit after the disaster caused by BP to a company co-owned by BP, I’m thinking I may need traction. Good Lord, when is it going...

Senator Mary Landrieu Grills Ken Salazar on ‘Permitorium’

March 2, 2011
By
Mary Landrieu

Senator Mary Landrieu might be a Democrat, but she’s well aware of the importance of Gulf oil drilling to Louisiana’s economy. She’s one of the few Democrats who has stood up to the Obama administration over its vindictive and destructive “permitorium” on drilling. The administration doctored a report to feign support for the moratorium....

Obama Admin Issues One Drilling Permit, Won’t Issue More Without Increased Funding

February 28, 2011
By

You'd think it would be good news that the Obama administration has finally issued an oil drilling permit. Maybe that would signal more permits are on the way. But no. The folks running the agencies in charge of the permit process don't think they're receiving enough funding from the taxpayers, so expect them to...
